William Harvey Clare
William Harvey Clare (1874 – February 26, 1956) was a politician in Saskatchewan, Canada. He served as mayor of Saskatoon from 1924 to 1925. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario and came to Winnipeg, Manitoba to attend teacher's college. He taught school for several years and then was hired by a bank. He worked as a bank manager in Lanigan, Saskatchewan and then, in 1910, became general manager of the Saskatchewan Investment and Trust Company in Saskatoon. Soon afterwards, he opened his own real estate and insurance business. Clare served on Saskatoon city council from 1914 to 1922. He did not seek reelection after his term as mayor. He died at the age of 82. Lanigan (pop. 1300) is a town in south-central Saskatchewan, Canada, at the intersection of TransCanada Yellowhead Highway 16 and Highway 20, approximately 117 km east of Saskatoon and 170 km north of Regina. Lanigan is surrounded by the RM of Usborne No. 310 and is about 2 kilometres west of Lanigan Creek and about 10 km west of Jansen Lake. Quill Lakes are about 34 km to the east along the Yellowhead Highway. Avalon is a mostly residential neighbourhood located in south-central Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is a suburban subdivision, consisting mostly of low-density, single detached dwellings. As of 2007, the area is home to 3,214 residents. The neighbourhood is considered a middle-income area, with an average family income of $65,000, an average dwelling value of $168,444 and a home ownership rate of 77.3%.
