Hu Zhijun (; ; born July 24, 1970) is a retired Chinese football player. He won the first Golden Boot Award of Chinese professional football league after scoring 17 goals in the 1994 Chinese Jia-A League. Homosexuality In China
Homosexuality has been documented in China since ancient times. According to one study by Bret Hinsch, for some time after the fall of the Han Dynasty, homosexuality was widely accepted in China but this has been disputed. Several early Chinese emperors are speculated to have had homosexual relationships accompanied by heterosexual ones. Opposition to homosexuality, according to the study by Hinsch, did not become firmly established in China until the 19th and 20th centuries through the Westernization efforts of the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. On the other hand, Gulik's study argued that the Mongol Yuan dynasty introduced a more ascetic attitude to sexuality in general. For most of the 20th century homosexuality in China had been legal, except for a period between 1979 and 1997 where male anal sex was punishable as “hooliganism”. China Rainbow Media Awards
The China Rainbow Media Awards is a series of awards given to media artisans and publication outlets for their coverage or featuring of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the People's Republic of China. It is organized by the Aibai Culture & Education Center and the Beijing Gender Health Education Institute, and the inaugural ceremony was held on December 9, 2011, in Beijing. Presenters Among the presenters for the 2011 event was a 72-year-old man named Old Paris who was jailed 3 times in his life by the government for his homosexuality (under the "hooliganism" charge). Old Paris presented the Special Contribution Award to sexologist and National People's Congress member Li Yinhe. Li, who was part of the organizing committee for the event, was not able to attend, but submitted a video expressing her support. Liaoning
Liaoning () is a coastal province in Northeast China that is the smallest, southernmost, and most populous province in the region. With its capital at Shenyang, it is located on the northern shore of the Yellow Sea, and is the northernmost coastal province of the People's Republic of China. Zhejiang
Zhejiang ( or , ; , also romanized as Chekiang) is an eastern, coastal province of the People's Republic of China. PFLAG
PFLAG is the United States' first and largest organization uniting parents, families, and allies with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+). PFLAG National is the national organization, which provides support to the PFLAG network of local chapters. PFLAG has over 400 chapters across the United States, with more than 200,000 members and supporters. ''PFLAG'' (pronounced ) is no longer an acronym, but just the name of the organization. Prior to 2014, the acronym stood for Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (later broadened to Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays).
