Maia Ruth Lee
Maia Ruth Lee is an artist and educator. Early life In 1983, Lee was born in Busan, South Korea. Lee's parents were Christian missionaries. Lee grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal. Education Lee has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea. Lee also studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada. Career As an artist, Lee has exhibited her art in New York, Los Angeles, Montreal and Denver. Lee's first solo exhibition was at Eli Ping Frances Perkins in New York. In 2017, while Lee was pregnant, she modeled for fashion brand Eckhaus Latta's spring 2018 show. Lee was a director at the arts-focused non-profit group Wide Rainbow. In September 2018 to October 2018, Lee held a solo exhibition of her sculpture pieces at Jack Hanley Gallery. Eckhaus Latta is an American fashion brand. The brand is known for their use of unexpected materials, exploring texture and tactility in their designs, and for incorporating writing, performance, and video into their practice. Rujeko Hockley (born in Zimbabwe) is a New York-based US curator. Hockley is currently an Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Life and education Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Hockley relocated to Washington, D.C. with her family at age two, and frequently spent time in New York and abroad, due to her parents’ jobs in international development. Jane Panetta
Jane Panetta is a New York-based curator and art historian. Panetta is currently an Associate Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Career Curating Before working at the Whitney, Panetta spent five years in the Painting and Sculpture Department of the Museum of Modern Art, New York as a curatorial assistant, where she was involved with MoMA's 2007 Richard Serra retrospective and the 2009 retrospective on the Belgian artist James Ensor.
