Eckhaus Latta
Eckhaus Latta is an American fashion brand. The brand is known for their use of unexpected materials, exploring texture and tactility in their designs, and for incorporating writing, performance, and video into their practice. In 2018, Eckhaus Latta opened a show, ''Possessed'', at the Whitney Museum, the first fashion-related exhibition at the museum in 21 years. The label previously exhibited their work, a sculptural collage of fashion, fine art, and video, in group shows at the Hammer Museum, (2016) and MoMA PS1, (2015). Additionally, Eckhaus Latta was nominated for the 2018 Edition of the LVMH Prize. History The label was founded in 2011 by Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta. The two designers met as students at the Rhode Island School of Design, where Mike studied sculpture and Zoe textiles. Susan Cianciolo
Susan Cianciolo (born 1969) is a fashion designer and artist. Education and life Cianciolo grew up in Providence, Rhode Island where she was raised in an Italian-American household of four generations. In her late teens she moved to New York City and in 1992 she earned her BFA from the Parsons School of Design. She now lives in Brooklyn, New York with her daughter Lilac Sky Cianciolo, with whom she regularly collaborates. As a young adult Cianciolo worked various jobs within New York's creative sector. She created the window displays at Bergdorf Goodman, worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, and for many fashion brands including Geoffrey Beene and X-Girl, the fashion line of Kim Gordon from the band Sonic Youth. Cyrus Dunham ( ; born January 28, 1992) is an American writer, actor, and activist. Dunham is a published author, whose debut book, ''A Year Without A Name: A Memoir'', was a Lambda Literary Award finalist. Early life Dunham was born and raised in New York City. His mother, Laurie Simmons, is an artist and photographer, and his father, Carroll Dunham, is a painter. Dunham's older sister, Lena, is a writer, actress, and producer. Dunham attended St. Ann's School in New York City. He wrote for the school newspaper and yearbook and spoke at the graduation. Juliana Huxtable (born December 29, 1987) is an American artist, writer, performer, DJ, and co-founder of the New York-based nightlife project Shock Value. Huxtable has exhibited and performed at a number of venues including Reena Spaulings Fine Art, Project Native Informant, Artists Space, the New Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, and Institute of Contemporary Arts.
