Turković Family
Turković (''Turkovich'') is a Croatian noble family from Kutjevo, Croatia. The Turković brothers, Petar Dragan and Milan, were awarded the title of Baron in 1911 by the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I with the particle Kutjevski (''of Kutjevo''). History The Turković is a family that originated from Kraljevica, where they were primarily engaged in trade. Ivan Matija Turković, the family's patriarch, was involved in the business of coffins and wooden products, and later became a ship-owner and landlord. Due to his position and education, he was appointed as the papal consul for a period of 30 years. During the French rule from 1809 to 1812, he served as the ''máire'' of Kraljevica and Bakar. He was blessed with three sons, namely Andrea Francesco (died 1843), Ivan Nepomuk (born 1796), and Vjenceslav. The Croats (; hr, Hrvati ) are a South Slavic ethnic group who share a common Croatian ancestry, culture, history and language. Zagrebačka pivovara (lit. Zagreb Brewery) was founded in 1892, when brewers from the Upper Town of Zagreb, Croatia realized they were not able to produce enough beer for the ever-growing and developing city. It was the first industrial brewery in Croatia. Today, it is the largest beer manufacturer in Croatia, holding 44% of the market in 2017. History The founding assembly of Zagrebačka pivovara as a joint-stock company was held on May 19, 1892, in the premises of the Croatian Discount Bank at the Ban Jelačić Square. Viticulture (from the Latin word for ''vine'') or winegrowing (wine growing) is the cultivation and harvesting of grapes. It is a branch of the science of horticulture.
