To MoWT in 1940 and renamed ''Empire Rowan''. Torpedoed on 27 March 1943 by aircraft in Bay of Collo, northwest of Annaba, Bône, Algeria and sunk. Wreck exploded underwater on 8 January 1951, believed to be caused by an unofficial salvage attempt.

Sold in 1946 to Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Co Ltd and renamed ''Batissa''. Sold in 1956 to Royal Dutch Shell, Shell Tankers Ltd. Sold in 1960 to Estrella Maritima SA, Argentina. On 7 June 1970 ''Batissa'' was in collision with in the Paraná River. Explosions and fire followed, the ship ran aground and was abandoned. Later refloated and laid up damaged at Buenos Aires. Previously arranged sale to Toba S.A.M.C.I.F, Argentina and renaming to ''Toba Pegaso'' fell through. Scrapped in 1977 at Buenos Aires.


''Empire Ruth''
