Broadcasting

Sony Sports Network has acquired the exclusive media rights for Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou. The games will be live telecast on television as well as on it's OTT platform SonyLIV. SSN started campaign to support Indian contingent 150 days before the game will being held. The campaign includes the slogan, ''‘Hum Hai, Zidd pe Sawaar, Iss Baar, Sau Paar, Phir Se, Hum Honge Kamyaab!’'' which means that India will cross 100-medal mark this time.

As per the Order and reference from THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI W.P.(C) 8902/2023 and reference of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Department of Sports letter No. F. No. 70-11/2023-SP.III dated 10.07.2023 regarding the Formulation of Selection criteria for individual and team for participation in forthcoming Asian Games, it was decided by the ministry as per the new criteria vide Para (iii) that “in non-measurable individual sports discipline, the sportspersons must have achieved 8th rank in the last 12 months. In sports events where ranking are not maintained or where sportspersons have not been able to improve their ranking on account of reasons like lack of exposure in international tournaments, appropriate criteria must be adopted by the NSF in consultation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In sports competitions where the number of participants is limited. Stricter norms of selection will be prescribed”. Keeping in view of the said orders passed by MOYAS, the names of Karate athletes fall in the prescribed criteria as per their performance and position in the last 18th Senior Asian Karate Championship held from 16 to 20 December, 2022 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan are given below for the Asian Games 2022.
