Vera Tugolukova
Vera Tugolukova (born 16 September 2008) is a Russian-born Rhythmic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnast who has competed for Cyprus in international competitions since 2023. She is representing Cyprus at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's rhythmic individual all-around, Women's rhythmic individual all-around on 8-9 August 2024. Career Russia In 2022, Tugolukova won the gold medal with the hoop at the Russian Junior Championships. At the Children of Asia International Sport Games in Vladivostok, she won silver all-around as well as gold in the ribbon final, bronze in the ball final, and silver in the club final. She could not compete in International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) sponsored competitions due to the suspension of Russian athletes following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Gymnastics At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification
This article describes the qualifying phase for gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics. A total of 318 gymnasts (192 in artistic, 94 in rhythmic and 32 in trampoline) will qualify. The qualification pathway for the 2024 Summer Olympics is significantly simplified and modified from those in 2020. In the artistic team event, a maximum of five gymnasts will be eligible to participate as opposed to the four per team and two individuals who competed in Tokyo 2020. Three teams who finish on the podium qualify for the Olympics through the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool with a large proportion of quota places distributed at the same meet in Antwerp, Belgium by the following year. 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships
The 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships is the 40th edition of the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships. The competition took place on 22-26 May 2024 at the Papp László Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary. It was the final qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The individual Olympic quota from the competition went to Vera Tugolukova and the group quota to Azerbaijan, although these results were disputed by the Polish Gymnastics Federation. For 2024, the event also doubles as the Oceania Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, with the gymnasts from Australia and New Zealand being ranked and qualifying for the Olympics separately from the European competitors. The age requirements in gymnastics are established by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) and regulate the age at which athletes are allowed to participate in senior-level competitions. In the latter half of the 20th century, a series of controversies arose with regard to gymnast ages, some of them leading to sanctions by FIG, and paving the way for the age requirements to be raised from 14 to 15 in 1981, and then to 16 in 1997.
