2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships
The 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships is the 40th edition of the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships. The competition took place on 22-26 May 2024 at the Papp László Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary. It was the final qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The individual Olympic quota from the competition went to Vera Tugolukova and the group quota to Azerbaijan, although these results were disputed by the Polish Gymnastics Federation. For 2024, the event also doubles as the Oceania Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, with the gymnasts from Australia and New Zealand being ranked and qualifying for the Olympics separately from the European competitors. The individual Oceania berth went to Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva from Australia, who had narrowly missed the 2021 Oceania Olympic spot amidst controversy with the competition procedures. Sofia Ivanova ( Bulgarian: София Иванова; born 15 September 2005) is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. She is a world champion with the Bulgarian team in World Championships 2022 in Sofia and world champion with 3 ribbons+2 balls. She is the European all-around champion and team champion with the Bulgarian team in 2023, as well as a silver medalist in the 5-hoop final. Stiliana Nikolova ( bg, Стилияна Николова, born 22 August 2005 in Cairo, Egypt) is a Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 World all-around bronze medalist and hoop, clubs, and ribbon silver medalist, and a two-time (2022, 2023) European all-around bronze medalist and champion in the team competition. She is also the 2020 European Junior ribbon champion and ball silver medalist. Elvira Krasnobaeva ( Bulgarian: ''Елвира Краснобаева'' born 10 March 2008) is a Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast She is the 2022 junior European hoop champion and 2023 junior World ball champion. Personal life Krasnobaeva was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia but moved to Bulgaria at age of six because of her parents' work. In 2021 she was given Bulgarian citizenship. Boryana Kaleyn
Boryana Nikolaeva Kaleyn ( bg, Боряна Николаева Калейн; born 23 August 2000) is a Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 European Champion with Ball, Ribbon and in the Team competition, Twice (2021 & 2022) European All-around silver medalist and the 2018 World Team silver medalist. Govhar Ibrahimova (born 13 April 2009) is an Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast. She's a European and Junior World medalist. Career She was a member of the national junior group in 2023, competing at the European Championships in Baku where Ilaha, along Madina Aslanova, Ilaha Bahadirova, Sakinakhanim Ismayilzada, Zahra Jafarova and Ayan Sadigova, won bronze in the All-Around and with 5 balls.
