Udhabaani
''Udhabaani'' () is a 2009 Maldivian romantic horror feature film directed by Amjad Ibrahim. Produced by Hamid Ali under Learner's Production, the film stars Yoosuf Shafeeu, Amira Ismail, Hamid Ali and Aminath Shareef in pivotal roles. Upon release, the film received mixed reviews from critics, although it performed well at the box office, making it Ibrahim's most successful venture. Plot Lathaa (Amira Ismail) is a school student who belongs to the inferior social class where her parents, Adamfulhu (Hamid Ali) and Mariyam Manike (Aminath Shareef), work all day to earn an income hoping to sustain basic necessities. One night, Adamfulhu goes fishing and is dragged into the sea by a supernatural force. Concerned about him, Mariyam Manike searches for him and finds him at the fishing spot sitting idle. Amjad Ibrahim
Amjad Ibrahim Didi (born 11 September 1967), commonly known as Amjad Ibrahim is a Maldivian film director and screenwriter. Early life After completing eleven years of service in Maldives National Defence Force, Ibrahim decided to pursue a career in film direction due to his "fondness" towards film-making process. His first work as a director was Naifaru Dhohokko's video single "Maslahathu Neiy An'binney", followed by directing six songs for the television program, ''Maazeege Handhaan''. Hamid Ali
Hamid Ali is a Maldivian film director, producer, actor and writer. Career In 1993, Ali starred in two films; ''Mithutu'' and ''Vari''. The following year, he starred alongside Hassan Afeef, Arifa Ibrahim, Lillian Saeed and Mariyam Haajara in Ibrahim Rasheed's family drama '' Dhevana An'bi'', in which he played a negative character, Amjad who separates a happy couple for enmity. Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. Amira Ismail
Amira Ismail (born 4 October 1985) is a Maldivian actress. Career Ismail first filmed for a film titled ''Loabi Dhasvejje'' which was ultimately delayed and shelved. She then collaborated with Amjad Ibrahim for his romantic horror film '' Dhonkamana'' (2003) which depicts the romantic relationship between a young man (played by Yoosuf Shafeeu) and an old woman (played by Fauziyya Hassan). Aminath Shareef is a Maldivian film actress. Career Mariyam Shauqee's widely acclaimed family drama television series ''Kahthiri'' was released in 1998, where she played the role of the sister of an indolent mother. Aminath Shaufa Saeed
Aminath Shaufa Saeed (9 November 1990) is a Maldivian singer. Career In 2007, Saeed appeared in one of the Television Maldives-created singing series shows, ''Thihan'dhaanugai'', where she performed a cover of the song "Eynee Loabi", originally performed by Masodi Hassan Khaleel. Her voice was regarded as "somber", "husky" and "closed" yet "soulful", mostly comfortable in the lower vocal range. Aishath Maain Rasheed (2 November 1992) is a Maldivian singer. Early life At the age of seven, Maain's interest in music grew as she observes her father, Ibrahim Rasheed, working as a mentor to the students of MES Malé English School, participating in Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition. Mohamed Farhad (18 sep 1999) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Farhad was born on 25 June 1982 in Th. Madifushi. Since childhood, he was exposed to music of several genres which leads him to perform in the stage shows held in some of the occasions. Hassan Ilham is a Maldivian singer. Career Ilham made his career debut in the late 1990s though his professional career is noted to be initiated in the year 2000 with the studio album ''Hamaroalhi'' where he rendered ten songs for it. Mumthaz Moosa is a Maldivian former singer. Career Mumthaz was first heard in the early 2000s where he appeared in some of the local stage shows being performed at that time.
