Fathimath Zoona
Fathimath Zoona (20 October 1965) is a Maldivian singer and a recipient of several awards including one Gaumee Film Award and one Aafathis Award. Early life and career Fathimath Zoona was born on 20 October 1965 in Male'. During her childhood days, she frequently listened to old Bollywood songs and decided to pursue a career in music industry. In 1994, she participated in the "Basic Voice Training Course" which resulted in her receiving several offers from music directors and producers to sing for their films, albums, advertisements and national events. In 1998, her seductive rendition of the song "Uff Heevanee" in the horror classic ''Fathis Handhuvaru'' fetched her first Aafathis Award for Best Female Playback Singer. The following year, she released her debut studio album, ''Kastholhu''. In 2001, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Fathimath Nahula (born 22 June 1973) is a Maldivian film director, film producer and screenwriter. Early life In 1991, Nahula joined Jamaluddin school and worked as a teacher for four years. During the time, she spends most of her time in writing and developing stories. She then penned dialogues and stories for several films and television dramas produced by Television Maldives while publishing handful of them on different platforms including newspapers and magazines. Aiming to deliver the real emotions she write on the paper, Nahula decided to pursue a career in film direction. Abdul Baaree
Abdul Bari Aboobakur commonly spelled as Abdul Baree (20 March 1967) is a former Maldivian singer. Career In 1990, Baaree started performing in the "Aksheeba" shows without any charge, which helped in gaining recognition from music lovers. Afterwards, he expanded his presence to other stage shows including "Fannaanunge Muzikee Eid", "Galaxy" and other shows being performed in Male' and atoll islands. He started his professional career as a singer in 1997 by contributing to the studio albums including ''Mathaaran''. Indian classical touch in his rendition, often compared with Bollywood singer Mohammed Rafi, was particularly noted by the music directors which helped him gain several projects within a short period of time. ''Mila Handhuvaru'' is a 1998 Maldivian drama film edited and directed by Hamid Ali. Produced by Hussain Rasheed under Farivaa Films, the film stars Mariyam Nisha and Mohamed Hussain in pivotal roles. Mohamed Rashad
Mohamed Rashad (1952 – 2002) also referred as Madhaha Rashad was a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Rashad was born in 1952 in Male'. His father, Qasim Hussain was famously known for locals as "Naivaadhoo Kasim" and "Reendhoo Kasim". His mother, Hawwa Idhurees was a homemaker. He had one brother as a sibling and ten others as half-siblings including notable local artists, Ali Rameez, Ibrahim Rameez and Rafiyath Rameeza.
