Hamid Ali
Hamid Ali is a Maldivian film director, producer, actor and writer. Career In 1993, Ali starred in two films; ''Mithutu'' and ''Vari''. The following year, he starred alongside Hassan Afeef, Arifa Ibrahim, Lillian Saeed and Mariyam Haajara in Ibrahim Rasheed's family drama '' Dhevana An'bi'', in which he played a negative character, Amjad who separates a happy couple for enmity. The film revolves around a couple who gets separated due to social discrimination initiated by a cunning mother-in-law. In 1995, he wrote and starred in Mohamed Shiyaz's film '' Dhushman'' alongside Mariyam Nisha and Hussain Sobah. Hassan Afeef
Hassan Afeef is a Maldivian film actor. He is celebrated as the actor being featured in the first Maldivian film and song. He is also noted to be the actor to have worked with most directors away from home and acted in most films that were shot abroad. Career In late 1979, Hassan Afeef, a cinema-goer used to watch several Bollywood films screened at limited cinemas in Maldives and imitate their acting afterwards among friends and family. Mohamed Shavin
Mohamed Shavin is a Maldivian film actor. Career In 2000, he played the role of Fayaz, an ignorant husband who is deeply in love with a patient suffering from congenital heart disease in Abdul Faththaah's television drama series '' Dhoapatta''. Starring alongside Niuma Mohamed, Sheela Najeeb and Jamsheedha Ahmed, the series centers on unrequited love and complications of a relationship within and beyond marriage. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues.
