KHL Junior Draft
The KHL Junior Draft was an annual meeting in which every franchise of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) systematically draft (sports), selected the rights to available amateur ice hockey players who met draft eligibility requirements (17–21 years old, no active KHL, Minor Hockey League, MHL or Russian Major League, VHL contract). The KHL Junior Draft was held once every year, generally within two to three months after the conclusion of the previous List of KHL seasons, season. During the draft, teams took turns selecting amateur players from junior ice hockey, junior, collegiate, or European leagues. The 2009 KHL Junior Draft, first draft was held on June 1, 2009, prior to 2009–10 KHL season, the second KHL season, and was held every year until it was ended in 2016. Kontinental Hockey League
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; russian: Континентальная хоккейная лига (КХЛ), Kontinental'naya khokkeynaya liga) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. It comprises member clubs based in Russia (19), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (1) and China (1) for a total of 22 clubs. It was considered in 2015 to be the premier professional ice hockey league in Europe and Asia, and the second-strongest in the world behind North America's National Hockey League. Hockey Club Amur (russian: Хоккейный клуб Амур), commonly referred to as the Amur Khabarovsk, is a Russian professional ice hockey team based in Khabarovsk. They are members of the Chernyshev Division of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Traktor Ice Arena named after Valery Konsantinovich Belousov (), commonly shortened to Traktor Ice Arena, is an indoor sporting arena located in Chelyabinsk, Russia. It is used for various indoor events and is the home arena of Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and Belye Medvedi of Junior Hockey League (MHL). The 2012 KHL Junior Draft was the fourth entry draft held by the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), taking place on 25–26 May 2012 in Traktor Sport Palace. Ice hockey players from around the world aged between 17 and 21 years of age were selected.
