Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Suffolk

Women's England Hockey League
The Women's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by England Hockey that features women's teams from England. From 2011-2020 it was sponsored by Investec and was referred to as the Investec Women's Hockey League. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of 12 teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. At the end of the season there are a series of play-offs that decide which teams are promoted and relegated and which team finish as champions. 2001–02 England Hockey League Season
The 2001–02 English Hockey League season took place from September 2001 until May 2002. The men's title was won by Reading with the women's title going to Slough. There were no playoffs to determine champions after the regular season but there was a competition for the top four clubs called the Premiership tournament which culminated with men's & women's finals on 6 May. Hannah Martin (field Hockey)
Hannah Martin (born 30 December 1994) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Surbiton and the England and Great Britain national teams. She was educated at Ipswich School. Her brother is Harry Martin who plays for the England and Great Britain national teams. Club career Martin will play club hockey in the 2021-22 season, in the Dutch Hoofdklasse for Hurley. She has been playing in the Women's England Hockey League Premier Division for Surbiton. She has also played for University of Birmingham and Ipswich. International career Martin made her senior International debut against South Africa in February 2017. She has also played for England U-16 (2009–10), U-18 (2011–12) and U-21 (from 2012 to 2016).
