Aleksandr Pitchkounov
Aleksandr N. Pitchkounov (russian: Александр Николаевич Пичкунов; born May 6, 1979) is a former Russian heavyweight kickboxer and kyokushin karateka competing in K-1. He was the runner up at the K-1 World GP 2007 in Hawaii and K-1 World GP 2008 in Taipei tournament. Background Pitchkounov began training in Kyokushin kaikan at age of 13 in 1993. He became a black belt in 1999 and started training kickboxing a year later after being interested by watching K-1-competitions. He finished third place in the 7th World Open Karate Tournament in Japan at the age of 20. During the tournament competition he knocked out Nicholas Pettas with a head kick. Career Pitchkounov made his K-1 debut in May of 2004, defeating Seth Petruzelli via TKO. Perm, Russia
Perm (russian: Пермь, p=pʲermʲ), previously known as Yagoshikha (Ягошиха) (1723–1781), and Molotov (Молотов) (1940–1957), is the largest city and the administrative centre of Perm Krai, Russia. Hiraku Hori ( ja, 堀啓; born April 3, 1982) is a retired Japanese heavyweight kickboxer. A professional from 2001 until 2010, he competed almost exclusively in K-1. Career Hori made his professional debut at K-1 Survival 2001, winning via third-round knockout. After winning four of his next five, he faced MMA fighter Kazuhiro Nakamura at K-1 Beast 2003. After a competitive first round, Hori used his large reach advantage to attack Nakamura with a series of left roundhouse kicks, then knocked him out with a high kick. Hori was then pitted against fellow Japanese prospect Tatsufumi Tomihara in the quarterfinals of the K-1 Survival 2003 Japan Grand Prix. ''K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Seoul Final 16'' was a martial arts event held by the K-1 on Saturday September 27, 2008 at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, Korea. It was the Final Elimination tournament for top sixteen fighters. The winners qualified for the K-1 World GP 2008 Final held on December 6, 2008 at Yokohama Arena, Japan. The eight finalists from K-1 World GP 2007 Final were automatically qualified, then four World GP 2008 tournament winners in Amsterdam, Fukuoka, Taipei and Hawaii. The last four spots were selected by fan voting. Ruslan Savelyevich Karaev (Karayev) (russian: Русла́н Саве́льевич Кара́ев, Ruslan Savelyevich Karayev; os, Хъараты Савелийы фырт Руслан, Qaraty Savelijy fyrt Ruslan; born May 19, 1983) is a Russian kickboxer. Nobu Hayashi ( ja, 林伸樹; born April 27, 1978) is a professional Japanese Heavyweight karateka and kickboxer. He is a two-time K-1 Japan tournament runner-up and holds notable wins over Ben Edwards, Sander Thonhauser and Faisal Zakaria. Hayashi fights out of Dojo Chakuriki Japan in Tokyo, Japan. Hayashi was diagnosed with Leukemia, but was recently able to recover and is now cancer free. Biography and career Nobu Hayashi was born in the Japanese city of Tokushima. Chalid "Die Faust" Arrab (born May 28, 1975) is a German- Moroccan kickboxer and mixed martial artist. He trains at Team Golden Glory in Breda under Cor Hemmers. Biography and career Arrab's amateur boxing record of 34 Wins and 31 KOs out of 37 bouts has earned him the nickname "Die Faust" ("The Fist" in German). Douglas Ma'afu Hawke, better known as Doug "Vicious" Viney (born 20 November 1976) is a Tongan-New Zealander heavyweight boxer and kickboxer. He is the K-1 World GP 2007 in Las Vegas champion, who also represented Tonga as a super heavyweight boxer under the name of Ma'afu Hawke at 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Tsuyoshi Nakasako ( ja, 中迫剛; born January 29, 1974) is a Japanese retired heavyweight kickboxer who competed in K-1. During his ten-year career from 1998 until 2008, he fought a variety of K-1 champions including Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts, Remy Bonjasky, Mark Hunt, and Andy Hug.
