2024 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2024 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held from January 22 to 26 at FlightExec Centre in Dorchester, Ontario. The winning Danielle Inglis represented "Ontario–Inglis" at the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in Calgary, Alberta. The event was held in conjunction with the 2024 Ontario Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship. Both events are held together in non-Olympic years. Qualification process Twelve teams qualified for the 2024 Ontario Scotties. Dorchester, Ontario
Dorchester is a town in Ontario whose name first applied to the township and honours Sir Guy Carleton, Lord Dorchester (1724-1808). The name was changed from Dorchester Station on May 3, 1961. Dorchester is the residential and commercial core of the municipality of Thames Centre, in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, a few kilometres directly east of the city of London. According to the Canada 2016 Census, the town has a population of 3,911. The local arena underwent a $10 million expansion and opened on November 2, 2010. This expansion added a second NHL-sized ice pad, a gymnasium, and many other facilities to go along with upgrades to the existing part. It is now home to the Dorchester Dolphins Junior C hockey team. Rachel Homan
Rachel Catherine Homan (born April 5, 1989) is a Canadian international curler. Homan is a former Canadian junior champion, a three-time Canadian national champion, and the 2017 world champion, all as a skip. She was also the skip of the Canadian women's curling team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. During her junior career, Homan competed in two Canadian Junior Curling Championships, placing second in 2009 and winning the championship in 2010. She also won a silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships. Stu Sells Brantford Nissan Classic
The Stu Sells Brantford NISSAN Classic is a curling tournament or bonspiel part of the men's and women's curling tour. The event existed exclusively on the Ontario Curling Tour until 2017, before it was added as a WCT event for 2018 and 2019. The event is an annual event held at the end of November and the beginning of December. The event took place at the Brant Curling Club in Brantford, Ontario until 2017. The North Grenville Women's Fall Curling Classic (formerly the Royal LePage OVCA Women's Fall Classic and the Royal LePage Women's Fall Classic) is an annual women's bonspiel, or curling tournament, held in Kemptville, Ontario. 2023 Players Open
The 2023 Insitu Players Open was held from October 12 to 15 at the Dundas Granite Curling Club and the Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club in Dundas, Ontario. The event was held in a round-robin format with a $70,000 purse on both the men's and women's side. It was the first event held as part of the Players Tour during the 2023–24 season. The inaugural Players Open attracted a high calibre field of both national and international teams as it was held the weekend before the 2023 Tour Challenge in Niagara Falls. The Dirty Nil played in concert on the first night of the event. In the men's final, it was a battle of Alberta, with Team Brendan Bottcher defeating the Kevin Koe rink 5–4. 2023 Stu Sells Tankard
The 2023 Stu Sells Tankard was held from October 5 to 9 at the Barrie Curling Club in Barrie, Ontario. The event was held in a round-robin format with a purse of $30,000 on the men's side and $21,000 on the women's side. It was the second Stu Sells sponsored event held as part of the 2023–24 season. In the men's final, Japan's Yusuke Morozumi led his team of Yuta Matsumura, Ryotaro Shukuya, Masaki Iwai and Kosuke Morozumi to a triumphant 8–2 victory over South Korea's Jeong Byeong-jin. Morozumi opened the game with a count of five in the opening end. Jeong replied with two in the second before the Japanese answered back with three in third to bring the game to an early close. The Morozumi rink finished 3–1 through the round robin and scored playoff wins over Marco Hösli and Mike Fournier to reach the final. The 2023 KW Fall Classic was held from September 14 to 17 at the KW Granite Club in Waterloo, Ontario, Waterloo, Ontario. The 2023 Stu Sells Oakville Tankard was held from September 7 to 10 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Ontario. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of $30,000 on both the men's and women's sides. It was the first Stu Sells sponsored event held as part of the 2023–24 season. The 2023 event was dominated by the three Scottish teams in the field who all reached the final. The men's championship saw the reigning world champions Bruce Mouat rink, with Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jr. from Edinburgh defeat the Ross Whyte rink 6–2. Both teams entered the final with six straight wins in the event after going through the round robin undefeated.
