The Stroud Sleeman Cashspiel is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament. It takes place at the Stroud Curling Club in Stroud, Ontario. Innisfil
Innisfil is a town in Ontario, Canada, located on the western shore of Lake Simcoe in Simcoe County, immediately south of Barrie and north of Toronto. It has historically been a rural area, but due to being geographically sandwiched in between the high-growth areas of Barrie area and York Region has meant greater residential development in Innisfil. Joe Frans
Joseph Mark Frans (born July 1, 1975 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Frans is most notable for being a two-time provincial champion and for being suspended from competitive curling for cocaine usage. Career Frans obtained fame as a curler in 1991, when he won the provincial school boys championship and the provincial junior mixed championship while curling in Smiths Falls, Ontario. In 1993, Frans won the provincial junior championship while playing in St. Catharines, Ontario. At the 1993 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team would finish with a 6-5 record. In 1994, Frans would win a second straight provincial championship, this time with Bradford, Ontario. At the 1994 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he skipped the Ontario team to a 4th place finish (7-4 record), just out of the playoffs. Yannick Schwaller
Yannick Schwaller (born 31 March 1995 in Solothurn) is a Swiss curler from Recherswil. He currently skips his own team out of Geneva. Career Juniors Schwaller skipped the Swiss junior men's team at three straight World Junior Curling Championships. In 2014, he led his team of Reto Keller, throwing fourth stones, Patrick Witschonke, Michael Probst and Romano Meier to a 6–3 round robin record. They then beat Italy's Amos Mosaner in a tiebreaker to qualify for the playoffs. There, they defeated Canada's Braden Calvert and Norway's Eirik Mjøen in the 3 vs. 4 page playoff and semifinal games respectively, qualifying for the final. In the final, they won 6–5 over Scotland's Kyle Smith rink to become the World Junior champions, becoming just the fifth Swiss men's team to do so. Jason Camm
Jason Camm (born November 3, 1994) is a Canadian curler from Rockland, Ontario. He currently plays lead on Team John Epping. Career Juniors In 2011, Camm won both the Ontario Bantam Boys Championship and the Ontario Bantam Mixed Championship, both as a skip. After Bantams, Camm formed a junior team with Aaron Squires as skip, and Camm throwing last rocks. The team won the 2013 Ontario Junior Championships and earned the right to represent the province at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The team finished the event with a 7-3 record, tied with Manitoba's Matt Dunstone in third place. The two teams played in each other in a tiebreaker for a playoff spot, with Camm and Team Ontario losing 11-8. Cory Heggestad (born February 4, 1973 in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Barrie, Ontario. He currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Heggestad is a former Canadian Mixed Curling Champion. At the 2013 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, he skipped a rink that included Heather Graham, Greg Balsdon and Amy MacKay to a national championship for Ontario. After posting a 9-2 round robin record, the team beat Quebec (skipped by Mike Fournier) and then Nova Scotia ( Brent MacDougall) to claim the championship. The team represented Ontario once again at the 2014 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, finishing the round robin tied for third with an 8-3 record. After beating New Brunswick's Sylvie Robichaud rink in a tie breaker, the team beat Saskatchewan's Shaun Meachem in the semi-final before losing to Alberta's Darren Moulding in the final. John Willsey
John Willsey is a Canadian curler from Orillia, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of Oakville, Ontario. Career Youth In 2012, Willsey won the Ontario Bantam Mixed championship, playing third for Sarah Nuhn. While attending the University of Waterloo, Willsey skipped the Waterloo men's curling team for three of the four years on the team. In his first year on the team, he won a silver medal for Waterloo at the 2016 OUA championship and led Waterloo to a 2-5 record at the 2016 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, the national university championship. After winning a bronze medal at the OUA championship, he led Waterloo once again at the 2018 national university championship. There, Waterloo would finish the round robin in first place with a 5-2 record. In the playoffs however, Waterloo lost both of their games, and settled for fourth place. Rasmus Stjerne Hansen (born 26 May 1988 in Hvidovre) is a retired Danish curler. He is a former world junior champion and current Danish champion. He curls out of the Hvidovre Curling Club. Career Stjerne has participated in five World Junior Championships. He played as third for Kenneth Jørgensen in 2004 and 2005, finishing outside of the playoffs in both years. He then skipped his own team at the World Juniors in 2006, 2007, and 2008, finishing fifth, fourth, and seventh, respectively. Then, in the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships, Stjerne and his team made the playoffs as the second-ranked team. Codey Maus (born November 16, 1985 in Owen Sound, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Tara, Ontario. Maus is a three-time provincial junior champion and one-time provincial mixed champion. Career Juniors Maus won his first provincial junior title in 2002, playing third for the Jeff Armstrong rink. The team represented Ontario at the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The team finished the event with a 5-7 record, in 10th place. Maus won another provincial junior title in 2005, playing third for Mark Bice. The team would go on to win a silver medal at the 2005 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Maus won his third provincial junior title in 2006. Scott McDonald (curler)
Scott McDonald (born May 8, 1986) is a Canadian curler from St. Thomas, Ontario. Career McDonald had a successful junior career which involved winning the 2002 provincial Bantam championship (playing lead for Andrew Nixon), the 2004 provincial school boy championship for London's St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School, and the 2007 provincial junior mixed championship. Following juniors, McDonald went on to play on the World Curling Tour, first for Kirk Ziola and then for Wayne Tuck, Jr. (playing second on both teams). In 2012, McDonald would form his own team as skip. McDonald won his first Tour event as a skip at the 2013 KW Fall Classic. He would win the event again in 2014. After playing three seasons for the Codey Maus rink, McDonald formed his own team again in 2018.
