2023 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic
The 2023 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic was held from September 20 to 24 at the Cornwall Curling Centre in Cornwall, Ontario. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of $60,000 on both the men's and women's sides. It was the first time the event was held since 2019. The 2023 event was dominated by the international field, with only four Canadian teams qualifying for the fifteen total playoff spots across the two events. Jean-François "J-F" Trépanier (born February 20, 1987) is a Canadian curler from Saint-Étienne-de-Beauharnois, Quebec. He currently plays lead on Team Félix Asselin. Career Trépanier began playing with the Mike Fournier rink with Félix Asselin at third and William Dion at second for the 2017–18 season. He previously played for Denis Robichaud, Simon Hebert and Guy Hemmings. In their first season together, Team Fournier won the 2018 WFG Tankard. The team qualified for the playoffs as the fourth seed and won three straight games to claim the provincial title. At the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier, they finished 3–5 record, finishing in tenth place. Émile Asselin (born November 15, 1996) is a Canadian curler from Montreal, Quebec. He currently plays second on Team Félix Asselin. Career Playing lead for his brother Félix Asselin, Émile won back-to-back Quebec Junior Curling Championships in 2015 and 2016. The team had a strong showing at the 2015 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, qualifying for the championship pool with a 6–0 record. They then went 1–3 in the championship pool, qualifying for the tiebreaker. Team Asselin defeated Alberta in the tiebreaker before losing to Saskatchewan in the second, ultimately being eliminated. Martin Crête
Martin Crête (born March 12, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Lévis, Quebec. He was the long time third for Jean-Michel Ménard from 2007 to 2018. Career Crête played as a competitive junior skip near the beginning of his career, finishing as the runner-up at the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and in third place at the 2003 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. He also skipped Team Quebec at the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Canadian Junior Championships, finishing sixth, fourth, and fourth, respectively. He also competed in the 2006 Quebec men's provincial championship, finishing tied for fifth after a loss to Pierre Charette in the playoffs. Félix Asselin
Félix Asselin (born November 17, 1994) is a Canadian curler from Montreal. He currently skips his own team out of Montreal, Quebec. Career Asselin skipped Quebec at four Canadian Junior Curling Championships during his junior career in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. In 2012, he led his team to a 7–5 seventh-place finish and in 2013 he finished in eighth with a 3–7 record. His best result came in 2015, where he qualified for the championship pool with a 6–0 record. He then went 1–3 in the championship pool, qualifying for the tiebreaker. is a Japanese curler from Sapporo, Hokkaido. She is the skip of the FORTIUS curling team, which won the Japan Curling Championships in both 2015 and 2021. 2023 Stu Sells Oakville Tankard
The 2023 Stu Sells Oakville Tankard was held from September 7 to 10 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Ontario. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of $30,000 on both the men's and women's sides. It was the first Stu Sells sponsored event held as part of the 2023–24 season. The 2023 event was dominated by the three Scottish teams in the field who all reached the final. The men's championship saw the reigning world champions Bruce Mouat rink, with Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jr. from Edinburgh defeat the Ross Whyte rink 6–2. Both teams entered the final with six straight wins in the event after going through the round robin undefeated. After Mouat got out to an early three-point lead, Whyte stole a single in the seventh to make the score 3–2 coming home where Bruce Mouat sealed the victory for his team. 2023 Euro Super Series
The 2023 Euro Super Series is a curling event among various countries of Europe. It was held from 17 to 27 August at the National Curling Academy in Stirling, Scotland. The women's event ran from 17 to 20 August with the men's event running from 24 to 27 August. The total purse for the event is £ 20,000 on both the men's and women's sides. In the men's event, the reigning world champion Bruce Mouat rink of Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jr. won 8–5 over Scottish rivals Ross Whyte. Team Mouat finished 3–1 through the qualifying round before defeating James Craik in the quarterfinals and Cameron Bryce in the semifinals. The Whyte rink were the top qualifiers with a 4–0 record and scored wins over Kyle Waddell and Korey Dropkin to qualify for the championship game.
