Тhe 2017 Liga 3 (formerly Meore Liga) was the first season under its current name and 30th third-tier season in Georgia. It began on 19 March and ended on 24 November. Team changes After the 2016 season many teams changed their division. A total 56 of them were relegated from this division only, which reduced the number of participants from 64 to 20 within one season. This exodus resulted from the announced reorganization of the entire league system and a transitional status given to all domestic divisions before these changes could take effect in 2017. Liga 3 (Georgia)
Liga 3, organized by Georgian Football Federation since 1990, is the third division of professional football in Georgia. Until 2017, when the current name was introduced, it was known as Meore Liga (the Second league). Structure and league system There were 20 teams competing in the league in 2017. In 2019, when Liga 4 was formed, their number was reduced to ten, although after two seasons GFF decided to extend the league to 14 at the expense of two bottom teams from the previous season and two second-placed clubs from Liga 4 While and Red Groups. For 2022 the number of clubs was increased to 16. Seasons run based on Spring-Autumn system with each team playing an equal amount of home and away games against their league rivals. FC Gardabani
FC Gardabani (Georgian: სკ გარდაბანი) is a Georgian association football club from the city of Gardabani. Within less than a decade since joining Georgian football, Gardabani have had different years from the lowest division to the 2nd tier. Following the 2023 season, they won promotion to Liga 3, the third tier of the national football system. History Gardabani were established in 2015 as a municipal club. They won the regional league tournament in the very first season. Promoted to Liga 3, Gardabani took the 1st place amid a tight competition with Mtskheta and Tskhumi. FC Khikhani Khulo
FC Khikhani Khulo ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი ხიხანი) is a defunct Georgian association football club from the town of Khulo. The team took part in Meore Liga and Regionuli Liga for six seasons combined. In 2021, they withdrew from the league. History Khikhani was founded in 2015 with financial support from the ''Acharistskali Georgia'' power company, engaged in HEP construction nearby. The team made a debut in Meore Liga in the same year and finished in the 4th place. FC Bakhmaro Chokhatauri
FC Bakhmaro (''Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი ბახმარო) is a Georgian association football club based in Chokhatauri. The club currently competes in Liga 3, the third tier of the national football system. History FC Bakhmaro have never participated in the top division of Georgian football. In the 1990s they took part in the second league for several seasons and in the mid-2010s the club mostly played in the third division, where they usually stayed in top half of the table. Despite coming 2nd in their group in 2016, Bakhmaro left the third tier in view of reorganization of the entire league system, which meant relegation for a vast majority of clubs. FC Egrisi Senaki
FC Egrisi is a Georgian association football club based in the town of Senaki. The club competes in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian football system. The team has played one season in the top flight. History The club had different names in 1940-60s and as Spartaki, Gantiadi, Tsiskari and Kolkheti participated in the Georgian domestic league. In the most memorable event in 1970, they won the republican Cup competition. Since then the football club has been competing under the current name. Egrisi played in Umaglesi Liga in the 1995–96 season, but they failed to secure their place in the league. The team has since been in low leagues with most of the seasons spent in the third division. FC Matchakhela is a Georgia (country), Georgian football (soccer), football club based in the town of Khelvachauri. They currently compete in Liga 3 (Georgia), Liga 3, the third tier of the Football in Georgia (country), national league system. FC Mertskhali ( ka, მერცხალი ოზურგეთი; English: Swallows) is a Georgian association football club from Ozurgeti, currently playing in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of the national league system. The club has spent four seasons in Umaglesi Liga, the top Georgian division. FC Meshakhte Tkibuli
FC Meshakhte is a Georgian association football club based in Tkibuli. Following the 2022 season, the club was relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football system. History Meshakhte participated in the Georgian Soviet league and twice, in 1980 and 1981, became champions. In 1964 and 1976 they also won the domestic Cup. FC Samgurali Tsqaltubo is a Georgian association football club from Tsqaltubo, which takes part in Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of the national league. They have been runners-up of the Georgian Cup three times. FC Sairme Bagdati is a Georgian football club based in the town of Baghdati. They compete in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian football. Their home ground is Bagdati's Central Stadium with the capacity of 3,000. History Sairme initially starting taking part in second tier of the Georgian Soviet league.
