FC Meshakhte Tkibuli
FC Meshakhte is a Georgian association football club based in Tkibuli. Following the 2022 season, the club was relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football system. History Meshakhte participated in the Georgian Soviet league and twice, in 1980 and 1981, became champions. In 1964 and 1976 they also won the domestic Cup. The club spent 13 seasons in the Soviet third division with the following combined results: The success of the club was attributed to the large coal mine industry based in Tkibuli which financed the local football as well. First years after Georgian national league was formed, the club played in the second division. Between 1991 and 1996 they three times finished third and once, in 1997, came 2nd. Starting from 2005, Meshakhte spent thirteen consecutive seasons in Pirveli Liga. The 3rd place taken in Group White in 2016 has been the best result achieved in the recent period. 2023 Liga 4 (Georgia)
The 2023 Liga 4 was the fifth season of fourth-tier football in Georgia under its current title. It began on 5 April and ended on 20 November. It was the only national division this year where no play-offs were held. The season consisted of 30 rounds with each team playing 26 matches. The top three teams gained promotion to Liga 3 while the two lowest-finishing teams were relegated to Regionuli Liga. The 2021 Liga 3 was the 5th season under its current title and the 33rd season of third tier football in Georgia. The season began on 2 April and ended on 2 December. 2020 Liga 3 (Georgia)
Тhe 2020 Liga 3 season was the fourth one under its current name and 33rd since Georgia formed independent football league system in 1990. Team changes Five new members joined the league after the previous season. Tbilisi City and Spaeri gained promotion from Liga 4, while Guria Lanchkhuti, Kolkheti-1913 and Tskhinvali were relegated from the second division. The latter, though, having failed to meet the existing financial commitments, were expelled and replaced by Gareji Sagarejo, a third place team from the lower league. Review The teams played opening matches of the season in early March, but as COVID was raging, all sport activities were halted. The games resumed in late July. A two-round competition concluded in December with Gareji Sagarejo winning the league. Kolkheti-1913 finished second, while Gori prevailed in a battle for the third qualifying slot. 2016 Pirveli Liga
The 2016 Pirveli Liga was the 28th and last season under the name Pirveli Liga before the division was reorganized into Erovnuli Liga 2. It began on 19 August and ended with relegation play-off finals on 10 December. The season was transitional back to the Autumn-Spring system. Apart from this change, the league consisting of 18 teams was due to be reduced to 10 for 2017. Taking into consideration the upcoming exit of four clubs from Umaglesi Liga at the end of this season, a total of twelve teams of Pirveli Liga were doomed for relegation, while no promotion to the top tier was envisaged. Team changes The best two teams of the 2015–16 season Liakhvi Tskhinvali and WIT Georgia were denied promotion to Umaglesi Liga. Georgian Football Federation referred to discrepancies found in submitted license documents as the reason behind this decision. Therefore, they both remained in Pirveli Liga.
