Wisconsin Senate, District 25
The 25th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, and Washburn counties, and part of northern Sawyer County. The 25th Senate district is the largest Wisconsin Senate district by area; mostly rural, the largest population center is the city of Superior. The district also includes the Bad River and Lac du Flambeau Indian reservations, and most of the Chequamegon–Nicolet National Forest. Current elected officials Romaine Quinn is the senator representing the 25th district since January 2023. He previously served in the State Assembly, representing the 75th Assembly district from 2015 to 2021, and was mayor of Rice Lake from 2010 through 2012. Lac Du Flambeau Band Of Lake Superior Chippewa
The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa (called ''Waaswaaganing'' in Ojibwe) is a federally recognized Ojibwa Native American tribe. It had 3,415 enrolled members as of 2010. The Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation lies mostly in the Town of Lac du Flambeau in south-western Vilas County, and in the Town of Sherman in south-eastern Iron County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It has a land area of and a 2020 census resident population of 3,518 persons. Its major settlement is the unincorporated Lac du Flambeau, which had a population of 1,845 persons. Located at ''Waaswaagani-zaaga'igan'' (French: ''Lac du Flambeau''; English: ''Torch Lake''), the reservation of the Lac du Flambeau Band was established under the Treaty of 1854. Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 7th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in northwestern and central Wisconsin; it is the largest congressional district in the state geographically, covering 20 counties (in whole or part), for a total of 18,787 sq mi. The district contains the following counties: Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, St. Croix, Chippewa (partial), Clark, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Iron, Jackson (partial), Juneau (partial), Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe (partial), Oneida, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas, Washburn, and Wood (partial). Rice Lake is a city in Barron County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 9,040. The city is located mostly within the Town of Rice Lake. History Rice Lake was named in 1870 after nearby Rice Lake. A post office has been in operation in Rice Lake since 1872. Geography Rice Lake is located at (45.498408, -91.738844). David Armstrong (Wisconsin Politician)
David B. Armstrong (born October 3, 1961) is an American politician and local administrator. A Republican, he represents the 75th district of the Wisconsin State Assembly. The 75th district comprises Barron County, the southern half of Washburn County, and several neighboring towns in Polk, St. Croix, and Dunn counties in northwestern Wisconsin. He was elected in November 2020. Early career Armstrong was active in the substance abuse testing industry, working as a vice president at Healthcomp Evaluation Services Corporation and then ClinNet Solutions. The latter was acquired by ADP in 2004. Armstrong's autobiographical website further states that he was the founder of two other health-related companies earlier in his career, both of which were acquired. Lincoln is a town in Bayfield County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 287 at the 2010 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.93%, is water. Chanz Jeffery Green (born January 1991) is an American business owner and Republican politician from Bayfield County, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 74th Assembly district since January 2023. Biography Chanz Green was born and raised in rural northwest Wisconsin. He graduated from Amery High School and went to work in municipal utilities in Amery, Wisconsin, and rose to become assistant director of public works in Amery. Lake Nebagamon is a village in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,069 at the 2010 census. Transportation U.S. Highway 2, U.S. Highway 53, and Wisconsin Highway 27 are located in the Lake Nebagamon area. County Road F, County Road P, and County Road B are three of the main routes in the community. History The name Nebagamon is derived from the Chippewa Indian phrase "Nee-bay-go-moh-win", translated as "place to hunt deer by fire on the water." However, if you examine the journals and maps of French explorer Joseph Nicollet, this could be a mistake in translation. It is chronicled on Wednesday, August 9, 1837 by Nicollet, that Nibegomowin Creek (Now Nebagamon Creek, sharing its name with the lake) was, at the time, referred to as Sleeping Bear River. Angela Mary "Angie" Sapik (' Vee; born August 1984) is an American sales professional and Republican politician from Douglas County, Wisconsin.
