Angela Mary "Angie" Sapik (' Vee; born August 1984) is an American sales professional and Republican politician from Douglas County, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 73rd Assembly district since January 2023. The 73rd Assembly district is unique as one of the few remaining competitive seats in Wisconsin's legislative map. Biography Angie Sapik was born Angela Mary Vee and was raised in Superior, Wisconsin. She graduated from Northwestern High School, in the town of Maple, Wisconsin, and went on to attend University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire for two years. She ultimately earned her associate's degree from Duluth Business University. For the last ten years, she has worked as a sales associate for her family business, Vee's Marketing, Inc. The 73rd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in the northwest corner of Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Burnett County, as well as western and northern Douglas County and most of the northern half of Washburn County. It includes the city and village of Superior and the villages of Grantsburg, Lake Nebagamon, Minong, Poplar, Siren, and Webster. It also contains the University of Wisconsin–Superior campus, Amnicon Falls State Park, Pattison State Park, and much of the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. Maple is a town in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 649 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Blueberry and Maple are located in the town. The Wisconsin State Assembly elections of 2022 were held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly were up for election. This was the first election to take place after redistricting following the 2020 United States census. Before the election, 61 Assembly seats were held by Republicans and 38 seats were held by Democrats. The primary election was held on August 9, 2022. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. The Government Accountability Board had been established in 2008 to replace the Wisconsin Elections Board and Wisconsin Ethics Board. Nick Milroy (born April 15, 1974) is an American fisheries biologist and Democratic politician from Superior, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for seven terms, representing the 73rd Assembly district from 2009 through 2022. Biography Nick Milroy was born in Duluth, Minnesota and raised in Superior, Wisconsin. His parents were public school teachers and local small business owners. Nick's wife, Julie, is also a public school teacher. The couple are parents to two sons, Maverik and MacLane, and a daughter, Marleigh. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive.
