David Armstrong (Wisconsin Politician)
David B. Armstrong (born October 3, 1961) is an American politician and local administrator. A Republican, he represents the 75th district of the Wisconsin State Assembly. The 75th district comprises Barron County, the southern half of Washburn County, and several neighboring towns in Polk, St. Croix, and Dunn counties in northwestern Wisconsin. He was elected in November 2020. Early career Armstrong was active in the substance abuse testing industry, working as a vice president at Healthcomp Evaluation Services Corporation and then ClinNet Solutions. The latter was acquired by ADP in 2004. Armstrong's autobiographical website further states that he was the founder of two other health-related companies earlier in his career, both of which were acquired. Wisconsin's 75th Assembly District
The 75th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northwestern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Barron County and the southern half of Washburn County. It contains the cities of Barron, Chetek, Cumberland, Rice Lake, Shell Lake, and Spooner. The district is represented by Republican David Armstrong, since January 2021. The 75th Assembly District is located within Wisconsin's 25th Senate district, along with the 73rd and 74th Assembly districts. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. The Government Accountability Board had been established in 2008 to replace the Wisconsin Elections Board and Wisconsin Ethics Board. Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) is a network of 34 public radio stations in the state of Wisconsin. David Duke
David Ernest Duke (born July 1, 1950) is an American white supremacist, antisemitic conspiracy theorist, far-right politician, convicted felon, and former Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. From 1989 to 1992, he was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for the Republican Party. His politics and writings are largely devoted to promoting conspiracy theories about Jews, such as Holocaust denial and Jewish control of academia, the press, and the financial system. The Anti-Defamation League described Duke in 2013 as promoting white supremacist views and "perhaps America’s most well-known racist and anti-Semite". Charleston Church Shooting
On June 17, 2015, a mass shooting occurred in Charleston, South Carolina, in which nine African Americans were killed during a Bible study at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Among those people who were killed was the senior pastor, state senator Clementa C. Pinckney. This church is one of the oldest black churches in the United States, and it has long been a center for organizing events which are related to civil rights. The morning after the attack, police arrested Dylann Roof in Shelby, North Carolina; a 21-year-old white supremacist who had attended the Bible study before he committed the shooting. He was found to have targeted members of this church because of its history and status. Roof was found competent to stand trial in federal court.
