Swedish Transport Administration
The Swedish Transport Administration ( sv, Trafikverket) is a government agency in Sweden, government agency in Sweden, controlled by the Riksdag and the Government of Sweden. It is responsible for long-term infrastructure planning for transport: road, rail, shipping and aviation. It owns, constructs, operates and maintains all state-owned roads and railways and operates many ferry services. The agency is a member of the Nordic Road Association. History A special committee oversaw the effectiveness of the Swedish transport agencies during 2008 and 2009. A conclusion was reached that there would be significant gains compared with the then-present situation if a new agency responsible for long-term planning of the transport system for road, rail, maritime and air traffic was formed. Preparations started in the autumn of 2009, and the new authority began its work on 1 April 2010. It took over all operations of the Swedish Road Administration and the Swedish Rail Administration, as ...

Railway Companies Of Sweden
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. In contrast to road transport, where the vehicles run on a prepared flat surface, rail vehicles (rolling stock) are directionally guided by the tracks on which they run. Tracks usually consist of steel rails, installed on sleepers (ties) set in ballast, on which the rolling stock, usually fitted with metal wheels, moves. Other variations are also possible, such as "slab track", in which the rails are fastened to a concrete foundation resting on a prepared subsurface. Rolling stock in a rail transport system generally encounters lower frictional resistance than rubber-tyred road vehicles, so passenger and freight cars (carriages and wagons) can be coupled into longer trains. The operation is carried out by a railway company, providing transport between train stations or freight customer faciliti ...

This diesel railcar was built during the period 1954–1981, with 787 built. Sweden SJ, the Swedish railways, needed new diesel railcars for lines like Inlandsbanan. SJ bought this model from Fiat. They were based on an existing model, but modified for Swedish needs. The first were produced in Italy, and later in Kalmar, Sweden. 100 vehicles were made during the period 1979–1981. SL X10
X10 is a series of two-car electric multiple units which was formerly operated by Greater Stockholm Transport (SL) on the Stockholm commuter rail between 1983 and 2017, when the City Line project made them imcompatible with the X60 train sets. The X10 was operated in sets of up to five units, making ten-car trains, each unit consisting of one motor car and one unpowered car. They were completely compatible with the X1 introduced in the 1960s. 101 units were built by ASEA between 1982 and 1993. Between 1993 and 1999, 49 X10 units were rebuilt to X11 for the Skåne Commuter Rail and the Gothenburg Commuter Rail. They have a different interior more suitable for regional traffic and are slightly heavier and have toilets (X10 don't have them since most SL stations have toilets). From 1999 only 52 X10 remained and all of them belonged to Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). They were refurbished with new interiors and repainted between 1998 and 2002 Two other variants are X12 and ...

Norrland
Norrland (, "Northland", originally ''Norrlanden'' or "the Northlands") is the northernmost, largest and least populated of the three traditional lands of Sweden, consisting of nine provinces. Although Norrland does not serve any administrative purposes, it continues to exist as a historical, cultural, and geographic region; it is often referred to in everyday language, e.g., in weather forecasts. Several related Norrland dialects form a distinct subset of dialects of the Swedish language separate from those to its south. Norrland consists of the majority of the Swedish landmass at about 60% of the land area, but only has about 12% of the country's population. Its largest city is Umeå, while the other four county seats are Gävle, Sundsvall, Östersund and Luleå. The largest non-capitals are Skellefteå and Örnsköldsvik while Kiruna is the largest town of the vast Lapland province in the far north. Sweden's highest mountain Kebnekaise and deepest lake of Hornavan are ...
