U.S. Route 45 (US 45) in Tennessee extends from the Mississippi state line to the Kentucky state line in West Tennessee, passing through the cities of Selmer, Henderson, Jackson, and South Fulton. Between Three Way and South Fulton, the highway is split into US 45W and US 45E. Mississippi Highway 145
Mississippi Highway 145 (MS 145) is the designation for the parts of the old U.S. Route 45 (US 45) roadbed that the state continues to maintain or has designated. Those ten sections travel through Waynesboro, near Boice, through Shubuta, from De Soto to Meridian, through Shuqualak, through Macon, through Aberdeen, through Nettleton, from Shannon to Booneville, and through Corinth. Waynesboro US 45 was fully rerouted out of Waynesboro in 2004, and the old alignment became MS 145. MS 145 begins south of town at an intersection with US 45. State Route 1 (SR 1), known as the Memphis to Bristol Highway, is a mostly-Unsigned highway, unsigned State highway (US), state highway in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It stretches all the way from the Arkansas state line at Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis in the southwest corner of the state to Bristol, Tennessee, Bristol in the northeast part. South Fork Of The Forked Deer River
The South Fork of the Forked Deer River is formed at the confluence of Huggins Creek and Tar Creek in the southern part of Chester County, Tennessee, United States. It flows in a generally northern direction and passes just to the east of Henderson. It then runs in a northwesterly direction and enters Madison County and passes near Pinson. Flowing still generally north it passes through Jackson. It continues across Madison County and enters Crockett County, It flows in a northwest direction through the following counties sometimes passing in and out of a county several times. Haywood County, Lauderdale County and Dyer County where it joins with the North Fork. The Forked Deer then empties into the Obion River which in turn flows into the Mississippi River. Tennessee State Route 197
State Route 197 (SR 197) is a secondary west–east state road located in West Tennessee. Route description SR 197 starts at US 45 ( SR 5) in Pinson in Madison County. It crosses the South Fork of the Forked Deer River and is called locally Ozier Road and after approximately 2.5 miles passes Pinson Mounds. At 4.0 miles along its length it passes through Five Points and becomes Diamond Grove Road. Diamond Grove Road continues for 3.9 miles and then makes a right turn onto Mifflin Road and in 0.4 of a mile passes the southern terminus of SR 198 before passing into Chester County at the 10.3 mile mark or 2 miles from SR 198. Pinson, Tennessee
Pinson is an unincorporated community in Madison County, Tennessee. It lies along U.S. Route 45 between Jackson and Henderson, just north of the Chester County line, and State Route 197 also passes through the community. It is included in the Jackson, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pinson is the site of the Pinson Mounds, the largest Middle Woodland period Indian mound group in the United States, and the Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park dedicated to their study. Demographics History In 1820, a group of five surveyors including Joel Pinson and Memucan Hunt Howard discovered a Middle Woodland period platform mound in the Pinson area while surveying land grants for Colonel Thomas Henderson. State Route 100 (SR 100) is a west–east state highway in both West Tennessee and Middle Tennessee that connects Whiteville with Nashville. It is long. Route description Hardeman County SR 100 begins as a primary highway in West Tennessee in Hardeman County at an intersection with US 64/SR 15 in Whiteville. Then SR 100 leaves Whiteville heading east but slightly northward before crossing the Hatchie River. SR 100 then has an intersection with SR 138 just north of Toone. Finger is a town in Chester and McNairy counties, Tennessee. The population was 350 at the 2000 census. History The area in and around Finger was settled in the early to mid-1820's. Originally named McIntyre's Crossing, after Robert Thompson McIntyre, who was an early political leader and businessman, it was not named Finger until 1895. Between its settlement and 1895, the area progressed and both education and business were important to the area's inhabitants. During the American Civil War, the area provided many soldiers to the Union cause and the area largely Unionist and Republican in its politics. In 1895, with the need of a post office to serve its growing population, a new name was needed to satisfy federal postal authorities. Originally, the town was to be named ''Cash.''
