State Route 365 (SR 365) is a secondary north–south state highway located in Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee. Route description SR 365 begins at US 45 and SR 5. It then continues east through downtown Henderson as Main Street for approximately and turns in front of Freed-Hardeman University onto White Avenue and continues for approximately ending between mile markers 7 and 8 of US 45. History Main Street at one time was part of SR 100 until the Noah Weaver Bypass was constructed which bypassed the downtown area. White Avenue was also once known as US 45 Business. Henderson is a city in and the county seat of Chester County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 6,309 at the 2010 census, up from 5,670 at the 2000 census. History Henderson was platted in 1857, when the railroad was extended to that point. The city takes its name from Henderson County, Tennessee. Henderson was called Dayton during the Civil War, then was known as Henderson Station and, finally, Henderson. Geography Henderson is located near the center of Chester County at (35.443025, -88.644345), to the west of the South Fork Forked Deer River. U.S. Route 45 passes through the city, leading northwest to Jackson and south to Selmer. Chester County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 17,341. Its county seat is Henderson. The county was created in 1879 and organized in 1882. Chester County is included in the Jackson, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Chester County was the last county formed in Tennessee, created by the General Assembly in 1875 from adjacent parts of neighboring Hardeman, Henderson, McNairy, and Madison counties. This land was used to create a county named Wisdom County, but "Wisdom County" was never organized, and in March 1879 the Assembly repealed this and created Chester County out of the same land. Lawsuits by opponents of the creation of the new county delayed actual organization until 1882. Chester County was named for Colonel Robert I. State Route 5 (SR 5) is a north–south state highway in the western part of the U.S. state of Tennessee. Except for the section northwest of Union City, it is entirely concurrent with U.S. Route 45 (US 45) and US 45W. Route description McNairy County SR 5 begins in McNairy County as the hidden designation for US 45 at the Mississippi state line just north of Corinth. The highway goes north as a 4-lane divided highway to an intersection with Old US Highway 45 S (a connector to MS 145), where it narrows to an undivided 4-lane and passes through the town of Guys. State Route 100 (SR 100) is a west–east state highway in both West Tennessee and Middle Tennessee that connects Whiteville with Nashville. It is long. Route description Hardeman County SR 100 begins as a primary highway in West Tennessee in Hardeman County at an intersection with US 64/SR 15 in Whiteville. Then SR 100 leaves Whiteville heading east but slightly northward before crossing the Hatchie River. SR 100 then has an intersection with SR 138 just north of Toone. Shortly afterwards, it has an interchange with SR 18 and shortly thereafter enters Chester County. Chester County SR 100 has an intersection with SR 125 before entering a hilly area of western Tennessee and passing Chickasaw State Park before intersecting SR 225 and entering Henderson.
