The Sichuan Conservatory of Music (SCCM, ), founded in 1939, is an interdisciplinary music institution in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. SCCM is one of the select conservatories authorized by the State Council to confer graduate degrees to its music and fine arts majors. Facilities SCCM runs its own symphony orchestra, philharmonic orchestra, concert wind orchestra, Chinese traditional orchestra, college choirs, and pre-college ensembles. The conservatory holds hundreds of concerts throughout the year and regularly invites distinguished guest artists and teachers from around the world. Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SFAI) () is a public fine arts university established in 1940 in the southwest City of Chonqing, China. It is one of the four most prominent art academies in China and the only one in southwest China. History and reputation Sichuan Fine Arts Institute has a history in the creation of art and research. Music Of Sichuan
Sichuan is a province of China which has a long history of both folk and classical music. Sichuan opera is an ancient tradition that is well-known across China, while the folk-based Sichuan lantern drama is popular in the region. The Sichuan Conservatory of Music in Chengdu is one of the older establishments of musical education in China, having been established in 1939. It is the only such institution in southwest China. There is deeply religious music in Sichuan, played by Daoist priests in their temples. Married lay priests have their own kinds of music, performed at various rituals. The Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts ( zh, 成都美术学院) is an art school, based in the Xindu District of Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The academy is associated with the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and has its facilities located at the Xindu Campus. It offers bachelor's degrees and master's degrees. Foundation The Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI) is located in Chongqing, but since 1997, Chongqing has been separate from the Sichuan province, and there was not an equivalent institute in Chengdu.
