Chongqing
ChongqingPostal Romanization, Previously romanized as Chungking ();. is a direct-administered municipality in Southwestern China. Chongqing is one of the four direct-administered municipalities under the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Central People's Government, along with Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin. It is the only directly administrated municipality located deep inland. The municipality covers a large geographical area roughly the size of Austria, which includes several disjunct urban areas in addition to Chongqing proper. Due to its classification, the municipality of Chongqing is the List of largest cities, largest city proper in the world by population, though Chongqing is not the most populous urban area. List Of Administrative Divisions Of Chongqing
Chongqing is the largest of the four direct-controlled municipalities of the People's Republic of China and is further divided into 26 districts, 8 counties, and 4 autonomous counties. It had 17 counties until October 2011, when Qijiang County and Wansheng District were merged to form the new Qijiang District, and Dazu County and Shuangqiao District were merged to form the new Dazu District. From October 2011 to June 2014, Chongqing had 15 counties until Bishan and Tongliang Counties were upgraded into district status. Two further counties were upgraded into district Tongnan and Rongchang Counties were upgraded into districts. In 2016 there additional counties were upgraded into district Kaizhou, Wulong and Liangping. Jiefangbei Central Business District (CBD) (), also known as Jiefangbei Business Walking Street (), is the ultra-dense, urbanized downtown core and one of several central business districts of Chongqing, China. It is anchored by a large pedestrian mall with a landmark monument tower (its namesake, "Jiefangbei") and surrounded by collections of tall skyscrapers. The Chongqing People's Auditorium () is a large hall for major meetings and events, located in Yuzhong, Chongqing, China. Construction of the hall began in June 1951 and completed in April 1954, with the involvement of Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping and He Long who were the leaders of the Communist Party's Southwest Bureau () at the time. The building includes a large auditorium and three adjoining parts to the east, south, and north. It covers a total area of 66,000 m2. The auditorium covers 18,500 m2. The building is high. Yuzhong District
Yuzhong District () is the central district and heart of Chongqing municipality. It is the capital of the municipality and is also the political, economical, and entertainment center of the city of Chongqing. Located in the central portion of Yuzhong is the Jiefangbei CBD, a leading business and financial center of western China. Surrounded on three sides by water, Yuzhong is effectively a peninsula between the Jialing and Yangtze Rivers. Due to the limited space, its hilly nature, and the fact that it is the main central business district for Chongqing, Yuzhong contains some of the tallest skyscrapers in China and is the most densely populated district in the municipality.
