Russia-24 (russian: Россия-24) is a state-owned Russian-language news channel from Russia. It covers major national and international events as well as focuses on domestic issues. It is owned by VGTRK. History The broadcast began January 1, 2007 in Russia, February 7 on the West Coast of the United States, May 19, 2008 in Serbia, and October 9, 2008 in Kyrgyzstan. VGTRK Crimea started broadcasting on March 10, 2014. The editor-in-chief of the channel is Evgeny Bekasov (since 2012). The channel ostensibly aims to give a broad and impartial outline of life in all of Russia’s regions from its European exclave of Kaliningrad to Vladivostok in the Far East. The channel was named ''Vesti'' until 1 January 2010, when the public-owned VGTRK rebranded its channels. Russia 24 was banned in Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the EU as a result of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. RTR-Planeta is the international service of VGTRK, a state-owned broadcaster in Russia. It is available throughout the world via cable and satellite. Broadcasting RTR Planeta is the only provider of Russian-language programming to the Asia-Pacific region covered by the AsiaSat 2 Satellite. To step up the accessibility of its content to viewers RTR Planeta has eagerly embraced new technologies launching in various IPTV, ADSL and other advanced networks. Russia-K (russian: Россия Культура, translit=Rossiya Kul'tura "Russia - Culture") is a Russian nationwide not-for-profit television channel that broadcasts shows regarding arts and culture. Russia-2 (russian: Россия-2) was a former Russian television channel operated by VGTRK. It primarily broadcast sport. Between 2007 and 2009 during the daytime, it broadcast the children's channel called Bibigon. Before January 1, 2010, it was known as ''Sport'', but since then it was re-branded due to a broadened format. It was relaunched as RTR on 13 May 1991, and is known today as Russia-1. Bucha Massacre
The Bucha massacre ( uk, Бучанська різанина, Buchanska rizanyna) was the mass murder of Ukrainian civilians by Russian Armed Forces during the fight for and occupation of the Ukrainian city of Bucha amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Photographic and video evidence of the massacre emerged on 1 April 2022 after Russian forces withdrew from the city. According to local authorities, 458 bodies have been recovered from the town, including 9 children under the age of 18; among the victims, 419 people were killed by weapons and 39 appeared to have died of natural causes, possibly related to the occupation.
