Robert Kristian Paolo Sperati (July 27, 1872 – October 12, 1945) was a Norwegian stage actor and film actor from the silent-film era. Career Sperati was born in Bergen. He made his debut at the National Theater in Bergen as the aristocrat in Turgenev's '' Fortune's Fool'' ( no, Nådsensbrødet) before he had success as Thummelumsen in Gustav Wied's comedy of the same name and in Anthon B. Nilsen's ''Bedstemors Gut'' (Grandma's Boy). He later worked in Oslo, at the Central Theater, the Oslo New Theater, and the Open-Air Theater on Bygdøy. He also participated in the first broadcast of the NRK Radio Theater, in the role of the Bøyg in Henrik Ibsen's '' Peer Gynt'' (on September 12, 1926). Family Sperati was the son of the conductor Robert Sperati (1848–1884) and the actress Octavia Sperati, and the grandson of the conductor and composer Paolo Sperati. Bergen (), historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. , its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. Radioteatret
Radioteatret is a department of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation which produces audio plays for radio broadcasting. It was established in 1927. In January 2021, ''Verdens Gang'' cited a report from NTB, saying that Radioteatret ow isbeing decommissioned; furthermore "the theatre will get a new life as podcast". According to the cinematographer Ottar Gladtvet, who described the filming in his autobiography, parts of the film were shot outside Røros at Easter. Plot The film was a drama in which a young woman from a coastal town gets to know an artist from Paris. They start a relationship and she has a daughter. The young woman, Elise, leaves, and on the steamship home to Norway she throws the child overboard. When she returns home, she marries Lieutenant Almeng. It turns out that the child she threw overboard did not die, but was found by a fishing couple, who have adopted the child. ''Fattigdommens forbandelse'' (The Curses of Poverty) is a Norwegian silent film that premiered at the Kosmorama Theater in Kristiania (now Oslo) on October 7, 1911. The film is considered the first Norwegian feature film, and was also announced as "the first Norwegian art film" (''Den første norske kunstfilm''). Paolo Sperati
Paolo Agostino Sperati (March 26, 1821 – May 20, 1884) was an Italian conductor, musician, and composer that was active in the theater and opera life of Christiania (now Oslo), Norway in the 19th century. Life and work Sperati grew up in a family of musicians, and he made his debut as an organist at the age of nine in 1830. He became a military musician in Genoa in 1834, and from there moved to Nice, where he accompanied Paganini. He led a traveling ensemble in 1838 and 1839 that visited Marseille, where he met the conductor Pietro Negri, who engaged him in the opera in Berlin and then in Copenhagen (1841–1850) as conductor of the Italian Society () at the Court Theater and the Royal Danish Theatre.
