Paramount Network (Spain)
Paramount Network is a Spanish free-to-air television network primarily programmed in a general entertainment format. It was originally launched on March 30, 2012, as Paramount Channel, primarily broadcasting films from the 1980s and 1990s, as well as recent television series. In May 2018, Viacom announced that the Spanish version of the channel would re-launch as Paramount Network (itself a relaunch of the former U.S. network Spike) on 10 June 2018, switching to a general entertainment format with television series and films. Paramount Network is a brand of several television channels operated by Paramount International Networks that showcase the Paramount Pictures film catalogue, and selected TV series from Paramount Global's television productions. The channel was first launched in Spain on March 30, 2012, and in the years since, the channel has operated in a number of territories across Europe, East Africa, Latin America and Asia. Comedy Central Spain
Comedy Central is a channel available in Spain through satellite platform Digital+, ADSL TV Movistar TV, Orange TV and cable services. It is owned by Paramount Global. Comedy Central was launched in March 1999. Originally, it shared the dial with corporate sibling Nickelodeon, but later the two separated. It broadcasts a mixture of comedy series (both Spanish and international) and original programming with Spanish comedians. Nickelodeon is a European pay television channel available in Spain and Portugal and operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA. The channel is aimed at children and teenagers. History The channel was launched in Spain on 27 March 1999 as a localised variant of American kids channel Nickelodeon. On 1 June 2005, a feed of the Central European Nickelodeon channel was launched in Portugal with Portuguese audio with partial local ad breaks. Paramount Network is an American basic cable television channel owned by the MTV Entertainment Group unit of Paramount Media Networks. The network's headquarters are located at the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles. The channel was originally founded by a partnership between radio station WSM and Westinghouse Broadcasting as The Nashville Network (TNN) and began broadcasting on March 7, 1983.
