Pinar De Chamartín
Costillares, also known as Pinar de Chamartín, is a neighborhood part of the Ciudad Lineal district, in north Madrid, Spain. Neighborhood The neighborhood has 22,616 residents. It is named for a ''pinar'' (a small forest of pine trees) near the larger district of Chamartín. The current-day neighborhood, however, is located within the district of Ciudad Lineal. Station The station is the terminus for Line 1, Line 4 and the Metro Ligero line 1. As the 1 is one of the most important lines in all of Madrid, the 4 serves the local area of Hortaleza, and the ML1 serves the nearby Cercanías station in the new and expanding neighborhood of Sanchinarro, this station sees a high amount of traffic for being in a relatively low-population neighborhood far removed from the city center. Line 1 of the Madrid Metro is an underground metro line running from Pinar de Chamartín in the north to Valdecarros in the southeast, via Sol. Today it has 33 stations and spans from end to end. The line was the first metro line of the Madrid Metro, and the first metro line built in all of Spain. It originally contained only 8 stops connecting Cuatro Caminos in the north to the city center at Puerta del Sol. Originally opened in 1944, the line has been extended many times over the years and is now one of the busiest lines in the Madrid system. The Metro Ligero (; "Light Metro") is a light rail system in Madrid, Spain. It has three lines, totaling , and 37 stations. Lines Line ML-1 Line ML-1 opened between Pinar de Chamartín and Las Tablas on 24 May 2007, with and nine stations, five of which are underground. Hortaleza
Hortaleza is one of the 21 districts of the city of Madrid, Spain. History Origin The first recorded human activity in the area of Hortaleza was the existence of a nomadic or semi-nomadic population in the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras, as attested to by the findings of numerous prehistoric tools in sites in the Valdebebas stream and in the historical center of Hortaleza itself, which were discovered at the end of the 19th century by the archaeologist Dr. Javier Pastor Muñoz. The current neighborhood of Hortaleza developed from the old town of , located on the hill formed between the Manzanares and Jarama rivers.
