Patricia Pérez (rhythmic Gymnast)
Patricia Pérez (born 8 August 2004) is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She's the bronze All-Around and 5 hoops medalist at the 2022 World Championships. Personal life She took up the sport at age five, her parents saw a poster advertising the sport in Sueca and asked her whether she would want to attend, she said yes. In October 2020 she underwent surgery on the meniscus in her left knee, her recovery took about six weeks. She trains twice a day at the High Performance Centre (CAR) in Madrid. Career Junior Pérez was part of the Spanish junior group that competed at both the 2019 European and World Championships, finishing 7th in Baku and 5th in Moscow. Senior In 2021 Pérez participated in the World Championships along Inés Bergues, Ana Gayán, Valeria Márquez, Uma Mendez and Mireia Martínez, finishing 12th in the All-Around and 5th in the 3 hoops + 4 clubs' final. The 2022 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics is a series of competitions officially organized and promoted by the International Gymnastics Federation. Formats On February 26, 2022, the International Gymnastics Federation cancelled all events scheduled to take place in Russia and Belarus due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Moscow World Challenge Cup, originally planned for 19–21 August and the Minsk World Challenge Cup, originally planned for 2–4 September, were affected by this decision and removed from the FIG calendar. Mireia Martínez (born 21 April 2005) is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She's the bronze All-Around and 5 hoops medalist at the 2022 World Championships. Personal life She took up the sport at age four in La Pobla de Vallbona, she came to this sport by chance when walking at the sports complex in her hometown and she saw some girls practising rhythmic gymnastics. Her dream is to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Career She trains twice a day at the High Performance Centre (CAR) in Madrid. Ana Gayán
Ana Gayán (born 22 May 2000) is a former Spanish rhythmic gymnast who competed with the national group of Spain. Personal life Gayán took up the sport at age seven at Club Pucol in Valencia. She then switched to rhythmic gymnastics because she did not like ballet. Her idols are the girls of the Spanish group that won Olympic silver in 2016 and Alina Maksymenko. Gayán's ambition was to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games. She was named the 2017 Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year in El Puig. She's currently studying dentistry. The 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held from 27 to 31 October 2021 in Kitakyushu, Japan. Dina Averina broke the record for the most medals won at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships with 22 total medals and also became the first gymnast to win four World all-around titles. Alina Harnasko won the gold medal in the ribbon, becoming the first non-Russian individual World Champion since 2013 and the first Belarusian individual World Champion since 1996.
