2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held from 27 to 31 October 2021 in Kitakyushu, Japan. Dina Averina broke the record for the most medals won at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships with 22 total medals and also became the first gymnast to win four World all-around titles. Alina Harnasko won the gold medal in the ribbon, becoming the first non-Russian individual World Champion since 2013 and the first Belarusian individual World Champion since 1996. The Russian group won their fifth consecutive World all-around title. Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are the world championships for the sport of rhythmic gymnastics. The tournament is promoted and organized by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). It is one of the three tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics officially organized by FIG, as well as the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup and the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games (in collaboration with the IOC and the federation of the country organising the Games). The first edition of the World Championships was held in 1963, a time when the sport was known as modern gymnastics. The current program of the World Championships contemplates both individual and group performances. In even non-Olympic years and the year before the Olympics, a team event is also contested. Two events are not competed at the World Championships anymore: individual rope and free hands. Anastasiia Maksimovna Salos ( be, Настасся Максімаўна Салас; russian: Анастасия Максимовна Салос; born 18 February 2002) is an individual rhythmic gymnast representing Belarus. She is the 2020 European Championships All-around bronze medalist, as well as the 2019 World Championships Team bronze medalist and 2019 European Championships Team silver medalist. Career Junior Salos began rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4 in her hometown of Barnaul, Russia. Milena Baldassarri (born 16 October 2001 in Ravenna, Italy) is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast.
