Neimke Hammer Mill
Kathrin Neimke (18 July 1966 in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt) is a German track and field athlete. During the 1980s and 1990s, she was one of the world's best in the shot put. Until 1990 she represented East Germany. The shot put is a track and field event involving "putting" (throwing) a heavy spherical ball—the ''shot''—as far as possible. The shot put competition for men has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival in 1896, and women's competition began in 1948.
