Raymond Pierre
Raymond Pierre (born September 19, 1967) is a former American track and field athlete, who competed in the sprinting events during his career. Pierre won the 1989 NCAA 400 meters running for Baylor University. He is best known for winning the men's 400-meter dash event at the 1987 Pan American Games. He also won silver medals in the 4×400 m relay at the 1989 IAAF World Cup (with Antonio Pettigrew among others) and at the 1991 IAAF World Indoor Championships alongside Charles Jenkins, Andrew Valmon and Antonio McKay. Pat Porter
Patrick ("Pat") Ralph Porter (May 31, 1959 – July 26, 2012) was an American distance runner. Born in Wadena, Minnesota, he graduated from Adams State in 1982 with a degree in marketing, after which he became one of the most dominant U.S. distance runners of the 1980s. Porter was a two time U.S. Olympian, running the 10000 meters at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. In 1983 he set the World Record for a road 10K at 27:31.8. He won the silver medal at the 1985 IAAF World Cup in Canberra, Australia, getting nipped at the tape by Ethiopia's Wodajo Bulti by six hundredths of a second. Running career Early career Porter had a personal record of 4:29 in the mile while running for Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado. He was not heavily recruited to run in college. David Swain (athlete)
David Lowry Swain (January 4, 1801August 27, 1868) was the 26th governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina, from 1832 to 1835. He was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina; his father, George Swain, was a farmer and a member of the North Carolina General Assembly. He received his early education at New Academy near Asheville and briefly attended the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of the Dialectic Society. Swain left his university studies in 1821 after only 4 months to study law with Chief Justice John Louis Taylor of the North Carolina Supreme Court; he was admitted to the bar in 1823. Hauke Fuhlbrügge (born 21 March 1966) is a German former middle-distance runner. Biography He won the bronze medal at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo over 1500 metres.
