Narve Gilje Nordås
Narve Gilje Nordås (born 30 September 1998) is a Norwegian athlete competing in middle-distance and long-distance events. Career Nordås' achievements include a victory in 5,000 metres and a silver medal in 10,000 metres at the 2020 Norwegian Athletics Championships. He placed fifth in 3000 metres at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships. He qualified in men's 5000 m, and was selected to represent Norway at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2021. Competing in men's 5000 metres at the Olympics, he did not advance to the final. In September 2021 he became Norwegian champion on 5000 metres. Running 5000 metres on 15 July 2023 in a competition in Heusden, Belgium, he improved his personal record more than ten seconds to 13:05.38, thereby qualifying for this distance in the 2023 World Athletics Championships to be held in August. The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event.
