Miss World 2011
Miss World 2011, the 61st edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 6 November 2011 at the Earls Court Two in London, United Kingdom. As part of the events, the contestants also travelled to Edinburgh, Scotland between 23 and 27 October. Alexandria Mills of the United States crowned her successor Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela at the end of the event, she is the sixth Venezuelan woman to win Miss World. Although over 120 delegates were expected to compete, problems regarding the timely acquisition of visas prevented several candidates from participating, thus reducing the final number to 113. Ivian Sarcos
Ivian Sarcos (born July 26, 1989) is a Venezuelan model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2011 on November 6, 2011, in London, United Kingdom. Sarcos is the sixth woman from Venezuela to win Miss World. Early life Ivian was a diplomacy student at the Central University of Venezuela who is 1.80 m (5'11") tall. Orphaned at the age of eight, Sarcos was raised by nuns in a convent in San Carlos, the capital of Cojedes. She found a new passion in the world of fashion and started her career as a model. Sarcos comes from a family of 12 brothers and sisters. Miss Venezuela 2010 Sarcos competed as Miss Amazonas in her country's national beauty pageant, Miss Venezuela 2010, on October 28, 2010, and was crowned Miss World Venezuela.
