The Ministry for Culture and the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Abkhazia (Russian: Министр культуры и сохранения историко-культурного наследия Абхазии) is a government agency of Abkhazia which holds an ministerial position in the Abkhazian government. Raul Khajimba
Raul Jumkovich Khajimba ( ab, Рауль Џьумка-иҧа Ҳаџьымба, ka, რაულ ჯუმკას-ძე ჰაჯიმბა; born 21 March 1958) is an Abkhazian politician, and served as President of Abkhazia from 25 September 2014 until 12 January 2020. He was also Chairman of the Forum for the National Unity of Abkhazia from 2010 to 2015. Khajimba previously held the offices of Vice President (2005–2009), Prime Minister (2003–2004) and Defence Minister (2002–2003). He unsuccessfully ran for President in 2004, 2009 and 2011. He resigned the presidency in 2020 due to protests against him. Vladislav Ardzinba ( ab, Владислав Арӡынба, ka, ვლადისლავ არძინბა; 14 May 1945 – 4 March 2010) was the first ''de facto'' President of Abkhazia. A historian by education, Ardzinba led Abkhazia to ''de facto'' independence in the 1992–1993 War with Georgia, but its ''de jure'' independence from Georgia remained internationally unrecognised during Ardzinba's two terms as President from 1994 to 2005. Nugzar Logua is a painter, poet and politician from Abkhazia. He is the current chairman of the socio-political organisation Apsadgyl and a former Minister for Culture in the Government of President Bagapsh. Early life and career Logua was born on 20 April 1956 in the village of Chlou in Ochamchira District. Between 1974 and 1979, he studied at the Art School in Sukhumi, and between 1982 and 1988, painting at the fine arts faculty of the State Academy for Art in Tbilisi. Vladimir Zantaria is a poet and politician from Abkhazia. From 1999 until 2004 he served first as Minister for Culture and then as Vice Premier in the Government of President Ardzinba.
