Matt LaGrassa
Matthew R. LaGrassa (born January 27, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for USL Championship club Sacramento Republic. Career College LaGrassa grew up in Elk Grove, California, where he attended Pleasant Grove High School. He played four years of college soccer at Cal Poly University between 2012 and 2015, including a red-shirted year in 2011. LaGrassa appeared for Premier Development League side Des Moines Menace in 2011 and 2012, and Ventura County Fusion in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Professional LaGrassa signed with United Soccer League side Sacramento Republic on January 20, 2016. LaGrassa was announced as one of United Soccer League club Nashville SC's first signings on November 30, 2017. Following the 2021 season LaGrassa's contract option was declined by Nashville and he became a free agent. Elk Grove is a city in Sacramento County, California, located just south of the state capital of Sacramento. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade– Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The 2017 Reno 1868 FC season is the club's inaugural season of existence, and their first in the United Soccer League, the second tier of American soccer. Background Ahead of the 2017 season, there had been three professional soccer clubs in Northern Nevada: Reno Rattlers, Northern Nevada Aces, and Nevada Wonders. The announcement of an expansion franchise to join the USL was announced in September 2015. The club's named was decided with a contest known as "USL Reno 2017". Nearly 5,000 entries were submitted, followed by fans choosing from amongst the top six names: Reno FC, FC Reno, Reno Silver FC, Reno City FC, Reno United, or Reno 1868. FC Tulsa is an American professional soccer team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma which competes in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. History The club was founded as Tulsa Roughnecks FC by Jeff and Dale Hubbard, brothers and co-owners of the Tulsa Drillers minor league baseball franchise. The Hubbards were announced as co-owners and co-chairs on December 18, 2013. Prodigal, LLC., owner of Oklahoma City Energy FC, another USL club, served as a minority owner. On February 26, 2014, it was announced that the team would be known as Tulsa Roughnecks FC, paying homage to the original Roughnecks which played in the original North American Soccer League from 1978 until the league folded in 1984 (and were best known for winning Soccer Bowl '83). 2016 Sacramento Republic FC Season
The 2016 Sacramento Republic FC season is the club's third season of existence. The club is playing in the United Soccer League (USL), the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. After off season expansion of the USL from 24 to 31 teams, Sacramento Republic FC is competing in the new Western Conference of the USL. The season is to begin in March 2016 and concluded in September 2016. Background 2015 saw much growth in attendance with the expansion of Bonney Field, but this was not a sign of things to come for the club. In 2015, the Republic failed to produce on the field as they did the year before, dropping out of the playoffs in the first round. 2015 PDL Season
The 2015 USL Premier Development League season was the 21st season of the PDL and consisted of 63 teams. The regular season began on May 2 and ended on July 19. The Michigan Bucks were the defending champions and posted the best overall record in the League; however, they were defeated by K-W United FC in the Central Conference finals.
