2016 Tulsa Roughnecks FC Season
The 2016 Tulsa Roughnecks FC season was the club's second season of existence, and their second in the United Soccer League in the third division of American soccer. Including the previous iterations of franchises named "Tulsa Roughnecks", it was the 16th season of a soccer club named the "Roughnecks" playing in the Tulsa metropolitan area. Outside of the USL, the Roughnecks participated in the 2016 U.S. Open Cup. FC Tulsa is an American professional soccer team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma which competes in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. History The club was founded as Tulsa Roughnecks FC by Jeff and Dale Hubbard, brothers and co-owners of the Tulsa Drillers minor league baseball franchise. The Hubbards were announced as co-owners and co-chairs on December 18, 2013. Prodigal, LLC., owner of Oklahoma City Energy FC, another USL club, served as a minority owner. On February 26, 2014, it was announced that the team would be known as Tulsa Roughnecks FC, paying homage to the original Roughnecks which played in the original North American Soccer League from 1978 until the league folded in 1984 (and were best known for winning Soccer Bowl '83). Raymond Lee (born April 26, 1993) is an American professional soccer who plays as a defender for the Kansas City Comets in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Amateur Lee played four years of college soccer at the Saint Louis University between 2011 and 2014. Prior to college, Lee played for the academy of Sporting Kansas City. Steven Miller (soccer)
Steven Paul Miller (born September 12, 1989) is a former American soccer player who previously played for North Carolina FC. Career College and amateur Miller played five years of college soccer at Colgate University between 2007 and 2011, including a redshirted year in 2009. While at college, Miller also appeared for USL PDL club Ocean City Barons during their 2008 and 2009 seasons. Professional Miller was drafted in the third round (39th overall) of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft by Montreal Impact, but was not signed by the club. Wilmington Hammerheads
Wilmington Hammerheads FC was a semi-professional American soccer team based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1996, the team last competed in the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2017. History The Hammerheads had one championship in 2003, and were a finalist in 2002 and 2012, losing to the Long Island Rough Riders 2–1 in 2002 and losing 0–1 to the Charleston Battery in 2012. Wilmington found great success in the US Open Cup in their later years, regularly drawing MLS teams in the late rounds. Anthony Peters (born October 24, 1983) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and college Peters attended Baton Rouge Magnet High School and played two years of college soccer at the University of Kentucky, before trying his hand at playing professionally in both Norway and Iceland. Finding opportunities in Europe limited, he returned to college in 2007, playing for West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he was named as the WVIAC Player of the Year and to the NSCAA/Adidas Atlantic Region All-American First Team in 2008. Dalkurd Fotbollsförening, commonly known as Dalkurd FF or simply Dalkurd () is a Swedish football club based in Uppsala. Matt Whatley (born 2 October 1992) is a Welsh footballer. Career Youth Whatley is a product of the Swansea City development system. He went on trial with Cardiff City in April 2010 after being released by Swansea at the end of the previous season. He appeared in a U-21 match for Swansea in a 1–1 draw with Exeter City. Iarfhlaith Davoren (born 12 May 1986) is an Irish former professional football player. He played as a left back or left winger. Davoren is a native of Tullamore, County Offaly.
