MKAD
The Moscow Automobile Ring Road (russian: link=no, Московская кольцевая автомобильная дорога, Moskovskaja koltsevaya avtomobilnaya doroga), or MKAD (), is a ring road running predominantly on the city border of Moscow with a length of 108.9 km (67.7 mi) and 35 exits (including ten interchanges). It was completed in 1962. The speed limit is 100 km/h. History The growth of traffic in and around Moscow in the 1950s made the city planners realise Russia's largest metropolis needed a bypass to redirect incoming traffic from major roads that run through the city. Opened in 1961, the MKAD had four lanes of asphalt running 108.9 kilometres along the city borders. Ring Road
A ring road (also known as circular road, beltline, beltway, circumferential (high)way, loop, bypass or orbital) is a road or a series of connected roads encircling a town, city, or country. The most common purpose of a ring road is to assist in reducing traffic volumes in the urban centre, such as by offering an alternate route around the city for drivers who do not need to stop in the city core. North-Eastern Chord
The North-Eastern Chord (russian: Северо-Bосточная Xорда, Severo-Vostochnaya Khorda), abbreviated as CBX, is an expressway under construction in Moscow. Its length is about 35 km. Completion of construction is scheduled by 2023. Route description The completed sections of the CBX begins at the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy interchange with the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) where east-bound the expressway gives access to Kosinskaya Highway and ultimately the M12 highway which is currently under construction as of 15 November 2021. The CBX then runs under an interchange with Papernika Street and then running adjacent to Kosino-Ukhtomsky Lesopark. It then overpasses the Gorkovsky suburban railway line and later is interchanged with Kuzkovskaya Street where access to the street is only from the north-west of the CBX. Bulvar Dmitriya Donskogo (russian: Бульвар Дмитрия Донского) is a Moscow Metro station in the Severnoye Butovo District, South-Western Administrative Okrug, Moscow, Russia. Ostafyevo International Airport
Ostafyevo (russian: links=no, Остафьево) is a "B" class international airport, located to the south of Moscow Ring Road in Novomoskovsky administrative okrug of Moscow. The airport is owned by Gazpromavia company, a division of Gazprom. It was renovated and opened for civilian flights in 2000 on the grounds of a former military airbase. Ostafyevo features a new modern glass terminal, and caters primarily to business aviation. Bykovo Airport
Bykovo (russian: link=no, Быково) was a small regional airport serving Moscow, Russia, of which only the runway remains. The airport was located about southeast of the city along the Ryazan highway and railway close to the town of Zhukovsky. It has one 7,250 ft (2,210 m) runway. The airport served mainly short-haul domestic flights due to its short runway. History Bykovo Airport first opened in 1933. The airport first had a grass-surfaced runway. During World War II it was rebuilt (1000 × 80 m; brick-covered). In 196, it was rebuilt again.
