A port is a maritime facility comprising one or more wharves or loading areas, where ships load and discharge cargo and passengers. Although usually situated on a sea coast or estuary, ports can also be found far inland, such as Hamburg, Manchester and Duluth; these access the sea via rivers or canals. Because of their roles as ports of entry for immigrants as well as soldiers in wartime, many port cities have experienced dramatic multi-ethnic and multicultural changes throughout their histories. Belawan ( zh, t=勿老灣, s=, poj=mài lau ôan) is a harbor in Medan, North Sumatra. Located on the northeast coast of Sumatra, Belawan is Indonesia's busiest seaport outside of Java. Aceh
Aceh ( ), officially the Aceh Province ( ace, Nanggroë Acèh; id, Provinsi Aceh) is the westernmost province of Indonesia. It is located on the northernmost of Sumatra island, with Banda Aceh being its capital and largest city. Ulèë Lheuë
Ulèë Lheuë is an area in Meuraxa sub-district, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. It was the former main seaport of Aceh. The town and seaport was heavily damaged and depopulated during the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Description Ulèë Lheuë is made of two words - Ulèë means "head" and "lheuë" means little peninsula. The town was most popular during the reign of Aceh Sultanate as a busy international seaport for spice trading. Ulèë Lheuë was devastated by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami—the majority of the town's buildings were destroyed, and less than 10% of the pre-tsunami population of 6000 survived. The area was reconstructed in 2005. A new ferry terminal has been built, funded by the Australian Government (implemented by UNDP). Lampung ( Lampung: ), officially the Province of Lampung ( id, Provinsi Lampung) is a province of Indonesia. It is located on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra. It has a short border with the province of Bengkulu to the northwest, and a longer border with the province of South Sumatra to the north. Port Of Bakauheni
Bakauheni is a town in the southern part of the province of Lampung, Indonesia and is the largest and busiest port in the province, and also one of the busiest ports in Indonesia. Ferries carrying passengers and vehicles, particularly large trucks, connect Bakauheni with Port of Merak in Java across the Sunda Strait. There are plans for a Sunda Strait Bridge to connect the Bakauheni district with Java. The harbour is managed by the national ferry company ASDP Indonesia Ferry. The Merak-Bakauheni ferry route is operated 24 hours per day, with on average one ferry departure per 12 minutes. The average duration of trips required between Bakauheni - Merak or otherwise by ferry is about 2 hours. Public transportation users can also use small boats to speed up the trip, reducing travel time to about an hour. North Sumatra
North Sumatra ( id, Sumatra Utara) is a province of Indonesia located on the northern part of the island of Sumatra. Its capital and largest city is Medan. Batubara Regency
Batubara Regency is a regency on North Sumatra's eastern shoreline, with Limapuluh as its seat. It was carved out from the seven most westerly coastal districts of Asahan Regency with effect from 15 June 2007. The new regency covers an area of 904.95 km2, and had a population of 375,885 at the 2010 Census and 410,678 at the 2020 Census, of whom 206,551 were male and 204,127 were female. Port Of Kuala Tanjung
Port of Kuala Tanjung is a sea port at Batubara Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Once fully functional the port can accommodate 60 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) per year as the biggest port in West Indonesia, bigger than Port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta. The first phase of development of Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal was inaugurated in 2018. The first ship to dock at the port was the cruise ship '' SuperStar Libra'' on 5 April 2018 from Port Klang, Malaysia. Madura
Madura Island is an Indonesian island off the northeastern coast of Java. The island comprises an area of approximately (administratively 5,379.33 km2 including various smaller islands to the east, southeast and north that are administratively part of Madura's four regencies). Banyuwangi Regency is a regency ( id, kabupaten) of East Java province in Indonesia. This regency also known as ''the sun rise of Java'' because it is located at the easternmost end of Java Island. It serves as a port between Java and Bali. It is surrounded by mountains and forests to the west; by sea to the east and south. Banyuwangi is separated by the Strait of Bali from Bali.
