Line (song)
Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Line" written by Agnese Rakovska, Kristaps Ērglis and Kristians Rakovskis. The song was performed by the group Triana Park. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organized the national final ''Supernova 2017'' in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. 22 songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of four shows: two heats, one semi-final and a final. In the heats and the semi-final, four entries were selected to advance from each show: two entries selected based on a public televote and two entries selected by a four-member jury panel. Four songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 26 February 2017 where a public vote exclusively selected "Line" performed by Triana Park as the winner. Triana Park
Triana Park ( lv, Triānas Parks) is a Latvian group founded in 2008 consisting of lead vocalist and founder Agnese Rakovska, guitarist Artūrs Strautiņš, drummer Edgars Viļums and bassist Kristaps Ērglis. Their style combines pop and electronic with hints of hip-hop and rock. They represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with their song " Line" They also previously attempted to represent the nation in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Career The group was formed by Agnese Rakovska and her father Aivars Rakovski, with them being joined by Edgars Viļums and eventually also by Kristaps Ērglis. ''Supernova'' is a Latvian music entertainment show created by the Latvian broadcaster, LTV. It is currently used as the Latvian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Joy Neil Mitro Deb, (born 14 January 1979) is a Swedish songwriter and producer. He has worked with artists such as Fifth Harmony, JoJo, MiC Lowry and Akon. Currently, Deb is signed to Northbound Music Publishing in Stockholm, where he is a member of the production team “The Family” together with Linnea Deb and Anton Hård af Segerstad. Earlier (2013–2016) the group was signed to BMG Publishing. Joy studied at the well-known school ‘The Writers Academy of Sweden’. Early life Deb was born to an Indian father and a Finnish mother. Prāta Vētra, known internationally as Brainstorm, is a Latvian pop/rock band. The band became popular internationally in 2000 when they finished third in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song " My Star".
