Supernova (Latvian TV Series)
''Supernova'' is a Latvian music entertainment show created by the Latvian broadcaster, LTV. It is currently used as the Latvian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. ''Supernova'' began airing in 2015, replacing the previous short-lived Latvian national selection '' Dziesma''. Its first winner, Aminata Savadogo went on to bring Latvia to the Eurovision Song Contest final for the first time since 2008, earning Latvia their best placing since 2005, and their fourth best placing ever. Winners Seasons Supernova 2015 ''Supernova 2015'' consisted of two introduction shows, two heats, a semi-final, and a final. Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Love Injected" written and performed by Aminata. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final ''Supernova 2015'' in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. Aminata Savadogo (born 9 January 1993), occasionally known as simply Aminata, is a Latvian singer, songwriter, record producer, and model. She represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Love Injected". She released her debut studio album, ''Inner Voice'', in April 2015. Life and career 1993–2014: Early life and career Savadogo was born in Riga on 9 January 1993 to a mother of Latvian and Russian descent, and a Burkinabé father. She considers herself primarily Latvian. Latvia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 22 times since making its debut at the contest in 2000, where the group Brainstorm finished third with the song " My Star".
