Luciano Micallef is a Maltese born abstract artist. He is one of most famous in Malta for abstract art & has multiple paintings all over the island. Early life He was born in Birkirkara, Malta on 1 November 1954. At age 10, he started studying art privately under Maltese artist Guzeppi Briffa, He later attended the Malta School of Art. He was awarded a scholarship by the Italian government to study art at the Accademia di Belli Arti di Firenze. He is considered a prominent Maltese artist of the 20th Century through his abstract art. Accademia Di Belle Arti Di Firenze
The Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze ("academy of fine arts of Florence") is an instructional art academy in Florence, in Tuscany, in central Italy. The designers of Maltese stamps have been creating their works for the last 150 years. The most prolific designer of Maltese stamps was Emvin Cremona, who designed most of Malta's stamps from the late 1950s to the 1970s. Dates indicate the years stamps with the artist's design were used (except for overprints). In some cases, the design of the stamp is entirely based on old paintings. Oliver Friggieri
Oliver Friggieri (27 March 194721 November 2020) was a Maltese poet, novelist, literary critic, and philosopher. He led the establishment of literary history and criticism in Maltese while teaching at the University of Malta, studying the works of Dun Karm, Rużar Briffa, and others. A prolific writer himself, Friggieri explored new genres to advocate the Maltese language, writing the libretti for the first oratorio and the first cantata in Maltese. His work aimed to promote the Maltese cultural identity, while not shying from criticism: one of his most famous novels, ''Fil-Parlament Ma Jikbrux Fjuri'' (No Flowers Grow in Parliament, 1986), attacked the tribalistic divisions of society caused by politics. Kenneth Wain (born 1943) is a major Maltese philosopher and educator. His areas of specialisation in philosophy are chiefly education, ethics, political philosophy. Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth movement employing the Scout method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports.
