Tram
A tram (called a streetcar or trolley in North America) is a rail vehicle that travels on tramway tracks on public urban streets; some include segments on segregated right-of-way. The tramlines or networks operated as public transport are called tramways or simply trams/streetcars. Many recently built tramways use the contemporary term light rail. The vehicles are called streetcars or trolleys (not to be confused with trolleybus) in North America and trams or tramcars elsewhere. The first two terms are often used interchangeably in the United States, with ''trolley'' being the preferred term in the eastern US and ''streetcar'' in the western US. ''Streetcar'' or ''tramway'' are preferred in Canada. In parts of the United States, internally powered buses made to resemble a streetcar are often referred to as "trolleys". Haizhu Tram
The Haizhu Island Circular New Tram (), Line THZ1, or YoungTram is a tram system mainly serving the Haizhu District of Guangzhou, between and . It is an at-grade tram system. The whole line (except Party Pier station) began operation on 31 December 2014. Party Pier station was added on 21 October 2015. The Haizhu Tram is the first of the planned lines operated by Guangzhou Trams to open. Trams In Dalian
Trams in Dalian have been operating continuously since 1909 making them one of the oldest tram systems still in use in Mainland China. There were once eleven routes in operation in Dalian in the Northeast China. Only two routes remain in use today (Route 201 and 202). There was a route 203 which currently merged into route 201. Notably, most of the staff on Dalian's tram system are female, i.e. – driver, conductor, points man — even the depot manager. The tram system was the only rail network in the city, until Dalian Metro opened in 2003. History Trams in Dalian have a long history, stretching as far back as the late Qing dynasty. Dalian () is a major sub-provincial port city in Liaoning province, People's Republic of China, and is Liaoning's second largest city (after the provincial capital Shenyang) and the third-most populous city of Northeast China. Line 2 (Chengdu Tram)
Chengdu Tram Line 2 is a tram line in Chengdu, China. The line has a total length of and 35 stations (and will have 47 in the long term). It has a 'Y' layout and runs from the Chengdu West railway station to Pixian West railway station and Hongguang. The line was officially started in December 2015, and the demonstration section of the line was opened on December 26, 2018, and the remaining sections were opened on December 27, 2019. Changchun Rail Transit, is the rapid transit and light rail system in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province, China. Its first line, Line 3, is the first true light rail line in Mainland China. The system consists of three light rail lines and two rapid transit lines. Construction of the first heavy-rail metro line, Line 1, started in 2011, and opened for service on 30 June 2017. The Changchun Tram is a historic tram line in Changchun, Jilin Jilin (; alternately romanized as Kirin or Chilin) is one of the three provinces of Northeast China. Its capital and largest city is Changchun. Jilin borders North Korea ( Rasŏn, North Hamgyong, Ryanggang and Chagang) and Russia (Prim ..., China. It was first opened November 11, 1941, and was constructed by the Manchukuo government. On August 15, 1945, the tram had 7 lines and 73 trains. At its peak in 1960, the tram had 6 lines and 88 trains covering almost 53 km.
