Leave Everything Behind
Amaranthe is a Swedish heavy metal band from Gothenburg, known for their unique combination of pop rock and death metal. Their discography consists of five studio albums, one compilation album, one extended play, fourteen singles, and eleven music videos. To date, the band has sold 500,000 album copies worldwide. The band was formed in 2008, under the original name Avalanche. After signing a recording contract with Spinefarm Records, they changed their name to Amaranthe, and released the extended play ''Leave Everything Behind'' (2009). The band's debut studio album, ''Amaranthe'' (2011), achieved moderate chart success in Sweden, Finland, and Japan. Amaranthe is a Swedish metal band originally known as Avalanche. The band is notable for their blend of various metal genres and having three lead vocalists. History Formed by Olof Mörck (Dragonland, Nightrage) and Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg (Dreamland, Dream Evil) in 2008, the project began taking shape when singers Elize Ryd (toured with Kamelot) and Andreas Solveström (Cipher System, Within Y) signed on, as did drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen (The Cleansing, Koldborn, Mercenary). ''The Nexus'' is the second studio album by Swedish-Danish heavy metal band Amaranthe. The album was released on varying dates in March 2013, starting on the 13th in Japan and concluding on the 26th in the US. ''The Nexus'' is a development of the sound and ideas Amaranthe introduced on their first record. The band stated that they felt "the contrasts are greater, the mix and blends of genres is more controversial, and more creative freedoms were taken in this album." The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. The Grammis are music awards presented annually to musicians and songwriters in Sweden. The oldest Swedish music awards, they were instituted as a local equivalent of the Grammy Awards given in the United States. The awards ceremony is generally held each year in February in Stockholm.
