Kersti Anna Linnea Juva (born 17 September 1948) is a Finnish translator, recognized in particular for her translation into Finnish of J.R.R. Tolkien's ''The Lord of the Rings'' trilogy, for which she won the in 1976. Her translations of Shakespeare have been acclaimed for preserving the iambic pentameter of the verses. She was awarded the Mikael Agricola Translation Prize by the Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters and Finnish Book Foundation for her translations of ''The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman'' in 1999. Kersti Solveig Bergroth (24 January 1886 – 24 January 1975) was a Finnish author and playwright. Career Bergroth was known to have been linguistically gifted. She wrote in Swedish until 1920, translated English and French literature to Finnish and also spoke German. She is best remembered for having written popular plays ''Anu ja Mikko'' and ''Kuparsaare Antti'' using a Karelian dialect. During her career, she released around 70 books, including novels, memoirs, children's stories and poems. Bergroth was also noted for collaborating five times with film director Valentin Vaala. Using the pseudonym Tet, she wrote the film scripts for ''Morsian yllättää'' (1941), ''Tositarkoituksella'' (1943), ''Dynamiittityttö'' (1944), ''Vuokrasulhanen'' (1945) and ''Viikon tyttö'' (1946). Kersti Heinloo (born 26 September 1976) is an Estonian stage, film and television actress who began her career in radio. Early life and education Born in Tartu, Kersti Heinloo received her secondary education at the Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium, graduating in 1994. From 1995 until 1996, she studied radio direction at the Tallinn Pedagogical University (now, Tallinn University) before applying and being accepted to the performing arts department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn, where she graduated from in 2000. is an action-adventure role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. Kersti Kreismann (born 25 January 1947) is an Estonian actress. Kreissmann graduated from Kilingi-Nõmme High School in 1965. From 1965 to 1968, she studied Estonian philology at University of Tartu. Kersti Merilaas ( in Narva – 8 March 1986 in Tallinn) was an Estonian poet and translator. In addition, she wrote poems and prose for children and plays. Early life and education Kersti Merilaas was born Eugenie Moorberg in Narva, Estonia shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. She spent her early childhood in St. Petersburg, Russia with her mother, Anna Moorberg and sister. The family returned to Estonia in 1917 because of the turmoil of the Russian Revolution.
