Kersti Börjars
Professor Kersti Börjars (born 1960) is a linguist who is Master of St Catherine's College, Oxford. Education Börjars was educated in Sweden at Uppsala University (''Filosofie Kandidat''), and then in the Netherlands at the University of Leiden (''Doctorandus'') before completing a PhD at the University of Manchester. Academic career Since 1994, Börjars has been a member of staff at the University of Manchester, where she was promoted to professor in 2002. During 2002, she was a visiting professor at Göteborg University, and she is currently a professor at the University of Oslo. From 2004 to 2008 Börjars was Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs in the Faculty of Humanities. LIBRIS
LIBRIS (Library Information System) is a Swedish national union catalogue maintained by the National Library of Sweden in Stockholm. It is possible to freely search about 6.5 million titles nationwide. In addition to bibliographic records, one for each book or publication, LIBRIS also contains an authority file of people. For each person there is a record connecting name, birth and occupation with a unique identifier. The MARC Code for the Swedish Union Catalog is SE-LIBR, normalized: selibr. The development of LIBRIS can be traced to the mid-1960s. While rationalization of libraries had been an issue for two decades after World War II, it was in 1965 that a government committee published a report on the use of computers in research libraries. St Catherine's College, Oxford
St Catherine's College (colloquially called St Catz or Catz) is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford and is the newest college admitting both undergraduate and graduate students. Tracing its roots back to 1868 (although the college itself was opened in 1962), it has 528 undergraduate students, 385 graduate students and 37 visiting students as of December 2020, making it the largest college by undergraduate membership in the University of Oxford (Kellogg College, Oxford, a graduate-only college, has 1,137 students; St. Catherine's has 950). In 1974, it was also one of the first men's colleges to admit women.
